Four hours ago I managed to install Monterey on the Inteso USB-C ssd using a USB-3 stick (connected through my Plexgear USB-C hub).
It went smoothly and I can boot from it. I even updated it to 12.6.1.
Question now is should I dare uppgrade to Ventura from there?
I don’t want to risk going through the same procedure again if it doesn’t work. What do you people think?

Why not? Wasn’t your original intention to test drive Ventura?

You didn’t touch / purge your internal SSD that has an active Monterey install, right? So everything on this external is fresh and is OK even for total-loss? (I sure hope so).

No problems booting from external SSD with Ventura.

The only issue so far is Ventura won't connect to the internet.

Yes of course my internal Monterey is intact. So I will try and see what happens.
