I never said I didn’t like the feel. I haven’t been to the store and I haven’t held it. I’m saying holding it in the store doesn’t do anything for me. Wanting to hear from anyone that’s taken it home after coming from the 13mini and their thoughts. Who cares if I’ve ordered a case. It’s not about the money.

Never said money was an issue. I’m figuring you ordering a case meant you had decided. My mistake. I think you should go pro BTW.

I upgraded from the 13 mini to the 14 pro for a few different reasons. Purple is my favorite color and for some reason I got a blue mini and I hate blue. I really wanted to be able to take macro pictures and the dynamic island and crash detection really caught my eye also. I really was ready for a bigger screen too. Love it. Mini is going back as the trade in.

I did the switch from 13 mini to 14 Pro, mainly for better battery life now that I'm getting back into traveling for work and going to keep the 14 Pro. I can hardly notice the 120Hz screen vs. the 13 mini 60Hz screen so YMMV. Both screens seems to be just as smooth.

I love the 13 mini's size and weight but when I'm not home or in the office, the battery life doesn't cut it when on cellular. The biggest downside of the 14 Pro is the weight but I'm getting used to it and honestly, it doesn't feel much different in the pocket, which I thought it would. I still want a lighter device so hopefully the 15 Pro will be made lighter.

It's also not as much 1-handed friendly but it's not terrible. You can't cover the whole device without shifting it in your hand but reachability does help. My ideal device would be a 14 Pro with 5.8" screen and all day battery life.
Thanks! I’m really on the fence. I don’t care about the island but liked the option to SOS call (I fish offshore sometimes) but like the size of the 13mini. There’s also the part of me that hates older tech but I’m wondering how much can be remedied by better AI use for photos. If they’d have just given me what I wanted (zoom camera) on the 13mini I wouldn’t even be debating it. Speed is ZERO issue. I don’t game or anything. Being a pilot though my battery is at 89% health which feels like it’s dying pretty quickly and the other day there was a weird thermal issue where it got very hot and drained the battery super fast to the point that after an hour on a charger it hadn’t moved at all. Eventually turning it off for a bit fixed it. My dream phone would be the mini with the zoom and pro res. I’d pay more for that than any other phone. Looks like I’m going to be hanging onto the mini for a while. I can’t bring myself to go to the weight and everything of the pro yet. I have an iPad mini to watch movies with so really it’s just a phone for me.

Was your heat issue after updating to IOS 16? My mini did the same in the car after updating.

Keeping it. I need the battery. No getting around it.
Ever consider a 5000mha backup off Amazon? I have a 10000mha that’s very compact I keep in my backpack. The cockpit has USB outlets so I I’m always pretty charged but I’m wondering if there’s now a higher density replacement battery out there.

I did, yes. I travel long distances. Whether battery packs are allowed on planes us up to the TSA agent screening you that day. I go a very long time between access to charging. The charging ports on planes aren't always functioning. I realize this is such a petty problem for me to have. I'm grateful to have access to either or both of these devices.

Maybe we will get really lucky and get a 15 mini or at least a phone some of us consider more reasonably sized.

Unfortunately, I think the earliest would be iPhone 16 for the mini. I think Apple is going to offer the plus again next year like they did the 2 years for the mini.

The only downside of mini for me was really just the battery. I can compromise on everything else on the device.

Battery was the thing for me as well. Having to charge in the car and at work to make sure I get through the day. I may be carrying a beautiful brick around now instead of my svelte little mini but at least I don't have to worry about battery life anymore or always be looking for a place to top up. The mini should have been the MacBook Air of their phone line. Very sad that it wasn't.

I think the mini would've done better if it was branded as the iPhone Air.

So far, the 14 Pro is a dream on battery life compared to the mini. I'm patiently waiting for new battery tech to come to market so I can go back to a mini sized phone with "all day battery life".

This but I’m keeping my mini and trading in my previous phone. The weight is taking some getting used to but the pros are making up for that negative.

I just did this and I’m very happy I did. There is going to be an adjustment period on the size for sure.

100% serious when I say that when I opened it my brain was like “they accidentally sent me the 14 pro max instead” it felt so big but in just the last day or so it feels a lot more natural already.

The camera is sooooo much better than the 13 mini camera and I had been missing the pro level cameras a lot since getting my mini.

Overall the only thing I miss about the mini is the size and the more I use the 14Pro the less I miss the small size. Very happy with the switch.

What? Any battery pack under the 99ah is allowed. If a single TSA person tells you otherwise they’re wrong and I’d ask to speak to someone.

How does it feel as your daily driver? Use to it already or really bulky in the pocket?

So far so good. I had a 12 Pro before the 13 mini so i knew what to expect. It takes up more space in my front pocket but is still comfortable, I can sit bend down, etc. with it in the pocket and it doesn't get in the way. Doesn't really feel much heavier in the pocket. It does feel heavy in the hand and I think they're at the weight limit of what a device can weigh.

Ergonomic wise, my right thumb just reaches the left edge of the screen to swipe-back. It's hit or miss in some apps and other apps you don't have to swipe-back from the very edge of the screen so that's a plus.

Battery wise, so much better than the mini and this outweighs the size/weight cons for me. I didn't think it would and honestly thought I was going to keep the 13 mini for years or until they made another one but it showed me that battery life is on the top of my priority list.

Last year I started with a 13 Pro, sold it and got a 13 Mini… and now I’m switching back to a 14 Pro. I must say, I really hate the added weight and the physical dimensions when it comes to using it as a phone. Absolutely prefer everything else the 14 Pro has to offer, especially the camera, screen, and battery life.

Maybe in the future Apple can innovate and have a foldable in the mini form factor?!

Switched from the 12 mini. This thing is very heavy and large in comparison. I’m tempted just to return the 14 Pro and go back to the 12 mini. At least I won’t have any more hand cramps. Battery and the camera on the 14 Pro are the only reasons I’m considering sticking with it, but hard to justify the $999 price point just for that.

I ordered a 14 Pro case that should be here today. I’m hoping that makes this a little more comfortable for me to hold.

Yup, needs some time getting used to it. I would have kept the 13 mini if I wasn’t on the upgrade program

I went through the debate with the 13 pro vs 13 mini. I was almost certain I was going to spring for the pro...but decided on the mini. So far I haven't felt I have missed out on not having the telephoto lens. I did get this external telephoto from Sandmarc, but I don't use it all that often. Now that I've got the 13 mini, I'm really not going to replace it for a while, hopefully at least another three years. So far my battery life is good, but it took a hit in the first week with iOS 16 (going to wait another week before I come to a conclusion about that though).

I do like to keep my finger on the pulse, though, so I still hang around here, lol.
