Someone will soon. Not on purpose of course.

Unfortunately, I have tested this for all of you and I will tell you that it does not do well in the category.

Yesterday, I dropped the phone in the toilet for just about a second and it shut down on me instantly. I am now attempting to dry it out and see what happens.

Hopefully, I will be able to get it up and going. I'm not sure if anyone else has posted similar findings on this thread, but I wanted to post my scenario.

Here is my thread about the subject.

If anyone has any suggestions.....................please fire away.:(

ive buried my iphone [had 3 unlocked 1] i got pissed at one so i chuckde it in about 2ft of snow and buried it about 3 seperate times. snow was in the charging port and the headphone jack. everything worked perfectly just have to give it time to dry but yea if snow is considered your "water" test then yea there was water all in the headphone jack [all the way in] etc

i didnt turn the phone off at any point of the snow being in there either. just played with it while the ports were wet
It's great having someone spend their bucks on testing a product I would like.
I already have an iPhone but you could help me out with a new purchase of mine.
I'm about to buy an Aston Martin DB9.
Could you please buy one and crash it into a few walls, submerge it in a lake and maybe set it on fire and get back to me?
That would be most helpful.

Yeah, no problem. Do you want me to put an iPhone in the glove box? :D

P.S. Nice glass in your avatar.

a friend of mine dropped her regular phone into a glass of red Kool-aid once. The screen and everything went pink on her and it was DEAD.

My wife tested this...

She dropped her iphone in the ocean. Took about 10 seconds to find it in the whitewater.

Inside the headphone jack, half of the small white disk turned pink.

Had to get a new phone.

yea, i wouldn't test the iphone in water...although, i have used my iphone in the rain with the screen getting relatively wet and it still worked perfect...maybe if you have some sort of protective case/holder it lessens the chance of the iphone being disabled

While not on purpose, the IPhone was put to the water test July 4th. My daughter dropped hers into the lake and it took 10 minutes to find it. (thank goodness it was in shallow water). It works perfect! Whew.

Wow! I have never heard of any phone surviving being submerged in water for that long.

My friend's mom was telling me about how she has gone through three iPhones already, and that was back in May.

Phone 1- dropped on concrete (must have been a long fall)
Phone 2- Lost
Phone 3- toilet
Phone 4- lucky to be alive

**If you are interested in buying a new iPhone, don't be scared by this post. This isn't a typical experience for typical iPhone owners. (I know a bunch)
