has MMS been disabled in 4.0? or is my software faulty?

ok so i upgraded to 4.0 from a JB 3GS 3.1.3 and i didnt restore just shift upgrade (running windows 32 bit Vista home premium) and the option to use MMS is gone even from the settings app. any ideas?

updated through itunes the .ispw was downloaded through itunes.

damn dude, I have no idea what's going on with that, but I cant comment because I'm still updating to 4.0 as we speak. That's weird though. My only suggestion is try asking a friend to send you a picture and see if it comes through like before you updated.
 
Oh wait! Go into SMS settings under settings and see if theres a switch that says MMS: ON/OFF. That could be it.

i will give that a shot and update on my MMS status.

im on Rogers 7.0 Carrier settings for what its worth. i also noticed on my phone this...

my mms is broken. wont send any mms messages. keep getting the red exclamation point. i tried resetting network settings as well as resetting the phone from scratch. =(

non-jailbroken 3gs on at&t

AT&T Carrier 7.0
 
yeah yeah but i have important info in my backups and before i upgraded i ereased all settings so the backup should be clean.

i have sent regular text messages since my upgrade

restarting phone did nothing

i really dont like doing a DFU reformat hah but i want my MMS I'm sending about 70+ photos a month :p

Try resetting your carrier settings General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.

The phone will show the apple logo and a progress bar, don't freak, its just resetting network stuff, nothing to do with files or music or anything like that.
 
everytime i connect to itunes it says i have new carrier settings so i accept it says they were installed successfully, but when i recconect it gives the same message "new carrier settings are available"
 
I have this problem too.

If I restore to factory settings and don't restore from backup mms works and is an option. But when I restore my settings it disappears. Even if I reset network settings it won't re appear.

And I don't want to lose all my texts and settings...

im in the same boat, I'm just going through a DFU Restore dont want to lose texts but i need MMS.
