You're just taking the iPhone for granted. Try this... don't use your iPhone. Get an old Moto Razr flip phone and use that for a few weeks. You will appreciate your iPhone again.

Unfortunately Apple hasn't got competition strong enough to motivate them enough to bring something new anymore... Frustrating but what can you do when no company can give apple a run for their money in terms of innovation.

I just wish there was another company that cared as much as Apple on designing and innovation, unfortunately money is the only priority for likes of samsung lg etc.

The iPhone has way stronger competition now than it's ever had before! Android has become the most popular smartphone OS globally, and iOS is actually losing ground each quarter.

No I don't think the iPhone has become boring. What is it exactly that you want in a phone that will keep you entertained?

I like the newer iPhones, and have used both Android and WP for shorter lengths of time since my first iPhone in 2007.

One...phones of all brands have advanced a lot since then but they aren't the kind of leaps we've seen. Maybe as big of a leap just over a longer period of time. The 5S is way more powerful than a 3G or 3GS or 4. Quite a bit more powerful than the 4S and 5. Screens have gotten way better, and our data connections are way faster. I was reminded of that today when I was setting up my dad's 4 to run on our wifi when he is visiting. His data connection was E for 3G. My 5 and now 5S run off LTE which is way faster and its like being on a home WIFI network with the speed all of the time.

People are always expecting the keynote announcing the original iPhone every year with as of big of leap at that ushered in. Ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Instead people have been throwing as much _____ at the wall as they can hoping something sticks. But they're all iterations of the 'do all slab phone' that was the original iPhone.

As for boring, well no. I generally like to use items that are best suited for the task. If I wanted to be entertained I have a variety of tools for that which are all better than any cell phone is going to be anytime soon. Xbox, PS3, TV, DVR, laptop, family, friends, beer, going out (not in order of importance, obviously). I don't really view my phone as entertaining me.

Jesus dude.

It's just a phone.

It just works.

If I want excitement, I don't look to my phone.

I get a little nervous about new iPhone hardware and software. " It just works" is what I want. And the iPhone does that well. Better than anything else.

I thought so and bought the Galaxy S4. After a month, i went straight back to the iPhone 5 and now 5s. They are surely not boring, and ALOT better than anything else

I fell into that same "boring" trap and got an S4 too.

3 months later I ran back to iOS and got an iPhone 5S.

I don't see how it could be boring since iOS 7 just came out a couple of months ago. It's the biggest change that has happened in a long time, and while it's not perfect, it's a breath of fresh air compared to something that looked like the OS on my what, 5 year old iPod Touch?

While I do like stock Android, it also hasn't changed much since Ice Cream Sandwich. I really dislike the carrier & manufacturer customizations too.

I don't see how can a smartphone be boring. If people are bored they can just use the phone to browse the internet, play music and video, play games, use FB, Tweeter, etc.

The iPhone is a means to an end. The entertainment is in the content. After all I never hear people complain that their TV or PC* are boring.

*Unless they have an old/slow PC that it can't keep up with games.

When I had a work BlackBerry I really looked forward to new phones coming out. Then I started wanting an iPhone. The company finnaly caved in and a few of us were allowed to pilot iPhones (3s). Now I sit in meetings and look around at a table full of iPhones.
They are now the norm and feel more and more like a tool, not something exciting and new.
I actually had some retro lust for my BB Pearl the other day.
Don't get me wring, I love the iPhone and I does everything I need. It just doesn't seem exciting anymore.

Maybe your expectation for a phone are a bit skewed as a phone IS a tool and not something exciting. Sure you can get excited about a new phone but mature grown up folks use it as a means to make life possibly easier not as a status object or to "impress" people. You say you sit in meetings and see a table full of iPhones.... Ok so what. Maybe it's time to "grow up" a bit and become an adult and understand you don't need a phone to impress people. Just a suggestion.

****ing old people and retarded kids have ruined them for me.
I assume you're not old so have you ruined it for yourself yet?

I actually think that this attitude, that the iPhone has become boring, is itself boring, cliche, and unoriginal. I'm looking forward to some exciting innovations in people's complaints. It's just the same echo again and again now.
This!!

Its not as boring as being stuck on the same version of android for two years I can say that much. Although Apple doesn't include a lot of features in there updates manly bug fixes. Devices do tend to get a little boring thats when I buy something like a Windows Phone on Craigslist to play with, then sell it. Its not just iPhones that get boring they all do in time.

Edit:
Coming from Android and ROM making I always had something I could do with the phone. I could make a new ROM (theme it) or I could flash someone else's ROM. That kept ya busy for a couple hours. ROM making is a process your never done. The down side to that is it takes up too much time and there are always bugs. So I get Android phones sometimes to make a ROM then sell it. Get it out of my system so to speak. I will be missing my Christmas ROM this year though.

It's just a phone. The content on it is what keeps it entertaining. It gets boring when you don't try and use new apps.
