I use my nano occassionally. Right now it just stays docked to my stereo in the living room.

I use my iphone to listen to music at work and for working out. I bought an arm band which works great.

As much as I appreciate the retina display on the iPhone 4, the tiny size makes me appreciate my iPad all the more.

I have a older Nano (2nd Generation) that I've pretty much abandoned since getting an iPhone. I even use my iPhone 4 when running or doing outdoor stuff. I use an armband I originally bought for my 3G that still works well and doesn't bother me while running like some people have commented. I've seen a few forum posts of using the new Nano as a watch and it seems kinda cool to use it like that but I'd have to see it in person before paying that much for a "watch" and it not be water resistant.

I have a first gen iPod nano (2GB) and an iPod touch first gen (8GB) that I never use. I'm thinking of selling them on eBay. How much could I sell them for?

+6?

Ditto on the iPhone/Shuffle combo... but I am considering switching to the new clip on nano. The shuffle just doesn't hold enough for me.

I have an iPod that's just a permanent install in my car, but otherwise yeah -- the iPhone *is* an iPod. If you've got an iPhone why would you need another one?

My 32GB i4 is my iPod back up, for when I don't feel like bring my touch with me.

I'm one of the few that watches Videos on it, seriously I haven't seen one who does not even where I work out.

This is why I can't use my i4 as an iPod, battery. If I just listen to Music/Podcast, I would probably wouldn't need an iPod.

I sold my 5G Green 16GB nano for 32GB 4G touch.

iPhone has totally replaced my need for a separate iPod. However, if someday I get back to going to the gym, the new nano would be ideal.

Yup, same here.

For exercise like jogging, the nano or shuffle is perfectly ideal for situations like that. But the iPhone 4 definitely has replaced my 5th gen iPod already. Still, I do not want to see the iPod classic ever get phased out. The original iPod line needs to continue to live on and not die out after a decade.

Wow, welcome to three years ago. As soon as I got my (1st gen) iPhone I never saw the need for an iPod ever again. Before that I had a 60gb iPod Photo and while it was a little tough at first to go to a smaller collection on my iPhone, the convenience completely trumped any desire for more.

Every year the iPhone gets the ability to store more, and that's great, but I can never listen to the amount of music I have on it before I want to load up more.

That said, always buy the largest iPhone available, it makes living with the limited space a little better.

iPod Touch was the thing that pushed me over the edge to get an iPhone.
Got one as a grad gift in Grade 12 and with permission from my gifter I returned it and used the money to get an iPhone 2G.

In no universe will I ever want to carry a separate phone and an iPod Touch when I can easily have two in one.

My iphone 2g replaced ipod..

Funny thing is that iPhone 4 has almost replaced my laptop computer, past month only thing i have used my laptop is to download tv series / movies and watch them.

This highlights the problem I have, and why the iPhone isn't yet a replacement.

Yes, I'd like it to have replaced my iPod, but I use the iPod for several hours of music per day. To use only my iP4 would be pushing my luck what with all the other use (apps, calls, web). Still needs more storage and battery for this to be a possibility.

Not got an iPad yet then? :p
Sync and download is the only use the big machines get these days. Add those (and the upcoming printing) to the iPad (or a small wireless server) and I'm free!
That said, it's been a while since I had a 'Mac, and that got an awful lot more productive use than the current windows stuff even before the iPad/iPhone

Of course it has. It has all of my music, and a camera, and all my apps, and it's my cellphone so I already take it with me everywhere I go. I'd already be taking my iPhone anywhere I would take an iPod so I'd have two devices instead of one... Why do that?
