I have a Apple silicone case on my phone an it’s been great. Getting a saddle brown leather case today and wanted to see if anyone has had the leather case scratch their iPhone X on the edges.
Thanks.

as there isn't a microfibre lining around the edges of the case it could scratch the stainless steel band on the iPhone X, if you keep the case and phone clean it shouldn't scratch :)

What a waste of a video. The guy warns about it scratching his case. He can't even see the scratches but worries that if he takes the case off and on enough, that it could lead to scratches on the corner. He is concerned because he paid $1200.00 for his phone. Boohoo. It is a phone not a museum work of art.

OP, don't even give that video a second thought.

I had the same thoughts regarding his vid! 100% agree with you. Curiosity did get me wondering if users were honestly exerpiencing the “scratching” he claimed.

I've had 2 Apple Leather cases. Besides them easily tearing when they hit anything that wasn't smooth... I never had a problem with them scratching the phone. Ended up going with Sena cases because the inside of those cases are felt lined and the leather a lot higher quality imo.

Got the saddle brown leather case today. Love it so far. Will say this case is super tight on the phone. Positive is not worrying about debris getting in the case and scratching the phone, negative if you like to remove your phone often as the bottom of the case will get worn from removing and inserting.

I'm curious on scratching as well. Could you give us an update on your experience so far? Any micro scratches on the side? Any wear on the buttons of the iPhone from the metal buttons of the case?

I got a 9$ case of amazon. It doesn't have the microfiber lining, but it has a small textured surface that is designed to trap dust in between then little spaces. Now, I can see down the line that regardless of what the company says, debris will lead to some scratching despite how clean I keep my phone.

My OCD will hate it but its a phone, I will get over it. As long as there is no cracks on the screen,

I have very fine scratches around the SS band on my Silver X from removing and putting back on the Apple leather case. It's really no big deal since these can be buffed out on my color at least.

My experience was similar to the video posted above. Left micro scratches from taking on and off. I wasn’t to bothered by that as much as I was the camera cut out not being precise like my Apple silicone case. Ended up returning it an sticking with the silicone.

Still no micro or other scratches, on my SB. I remove the (tight fitting) Power Support Air Jacket every week and clean any possible dust accumulation.

One of my co-workers with the white phone using an Apple silicone case has numerous fine scratches on the stainless band. Clearly, the SB is much more resistant to these light scratches.

Space gray is more resistant to scratching because of the coating but silver can be buffed/polished to like new easily. Just like the stainless steel watches.

I have Space Grey model and I am using black leather case from apple. I like it very much but one thing that bothers me is bottom of the phone without any cover. Have you got any ideas how can I protect these side of phone?

Update, exchanged my first sb leather as the fit wasn’t acceptable. The one I have now is amazing and hasn’t caused any scratching issues. Luckily can buff out if any occur. Loving the patina on the sb posted above!!

You could use some liquid armor? Idk jus a idea. Other than that jus something you have to live with with the Apple cases.

Cases lined with felt don't scratch phones. Cases lined with felt which are owned by people who don't take the case off every couple of days to make sure no dust\debris gets into the space between the case and the phone are the culprits for scratched phones. Just like carwashes with brushes don't scratch cars... carwashes with brushes that don't properly clean the brushes between washes and then dirt is trapped in the brushes and scratches the next car are the problem. :)

Don't blame the gun, blame the gun owner. Don't blame the pit bull, blame the pit bull owner.

Yeah I have the same issues I have the space grey with the product red case.

Try some liquid armor. It’s typically used for glass application, but you can put it on the stainless steel too. It’s helped tremendously for me with bottom scratching.

Maybe a clear skin for the SS band of the phone?

I get your point, but car wash brushes will always give you paint swirls. Do not recommend. :D
