Yup, I only use my iPhone for texts and calls now, rarely do any internet related stuff on it unless I don't have my iPad with me.

Main reason I stayed away from the mobile OS craze for so long was because the screens were far too small to do actual work. I had PocketPCs for years so knew what I'd get. A few notetaking apps, some games and some password lookups. But that was hardly worth paying $100 a month for service.

iPad was the first device to seem worthy of a mobile OS. But it will not replace my laptop. Not with its poor editing and content creation features. I've tried about 5 Office apps and all suck for editing Word documents with tables and complicated layouts. No easy copy/cut/paste, no Tab key, no easy access to styles menu and no USB Host/file system means a bad experience.

So I use my iPad for browsing, e-book reading, video playing and games. My Touch gets used for music, some basic tools like calculator and alarm clocks. My phone works great for GPS tracking and web streaming audio.

I am able to message and make calls on all three devices thanks to Google Voice and Skype.

But unfortunately I still need to carry my ultraportable/netbook on trips. I simply cannot do my travel blogging or web design on a mobile device. I need to run too many desktop programs simultaneously. But as a bathroom/bedroom/riding a train device the iPad is far superior to a tiny phone screen.

I am a bit surprised by all the folks saying their iPad has replaced their laptop. Makes me wonder what you used your laptops for. I long ago ditched my towers for desktop replacement laptops. I'll never go to a system that doesn't have a built-in battery backup and portable feature again. If my house is on fire, I can easily grab my laptop. My tower would be a burnt shell.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-gb) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

Rarely use my laptop / tower, iphone saw to that

my iPhone will decrease when iPad arrives as I do all web browsing on iPhone, it's a pain on the tiny screen so can't wait for the bigger screen

Will only use iPad at home though

My iPod Touch (3d generation) is still getting as much use playing music and as a portable device when I'm out running errands. The iPad is really my laptop and the "Mini" is what's getting less use. I just relax with a cup of coffee and the iPad 2 to check morning emails and news. It's the perfect compliment to what I already had. Maybe an Apple TV next?

I've sold my Macbook White 09 bacause of my iPad 2. I'll probably buy the next Air or Pro in a coming update. Still feel there's a need for a laptop.

The iPad has taken over most of the computer usage. Although, I use my iPhone slightly bit less. I mainly use it as a normal phone, Spotify with headset or car stereo and taking some pictures.

Decided to sell my iPhone after getting my iPad 2 and now have a very basic candybar phone which I only use for calls and text. Didn't see the value in having MBP, iPad 2 and iPhone 4.

Yep, now the iPhone has been relegated back to purely phone+music usage outdoors. I only started carrying the thing around the house with me because downstairs without the iPad 1, my only other option was the lounge laptop which takes about 5 full minutes to completely turn on.

I think this might be the first time in 3 years that I move away from the iPhone and look elsewhere.

My iPhone use in the house has gone to being mainly calls and SMS whereas it used to be my go to device for twitter and Facebook. Outside my iPad really only goes to Uni with me and it usually stays in my bag, impractical for note taking in science classes (equations) but great for spare time in-between classes. I had considered selling my iPhone and getting a cheap Blackberry for my phone but I think I'd regret it.

Deffinetly using iPhone a lot less now though!!

my iphone 3gs usage reduced after i got the iPad, my iPad usage reduced after i got the iPhone 4, my iPhone 4 usage reduced after i got my iPad 2, my iPad 2 usage will reduce after i get my iPhone 5, and my iPhone 5 usage will reduce after i get my hand the iPad 3, and goes on.

No. My iPad drastically impacted how much I used my MBP. But my iPad and iPhone cover different uses and I use different apps on them. I use the iPhone more, then the iPad, then the MBP.

My laptop hasn't been powered on since I got an ipad.
And my iphone only gets looked at when I receive a call/text.

So yeah, drastically. I still do work on my PC however.

no not at all i use them for different uses my iphone is for work calls, texts, calendar, notes, email(personal and work) with a few games here and there my iphone is on me 24/7.

my ipad is for entertainment i will use it with a bluetooth keyboard as a laptop replacement on occasion but its usually used for web browsing, media, gaming, email, word processing.

see for me the ipad is nicer to use in email because of screen size but plain and simple it can never affect my phone use because its not pocketable and it has different uses for me. they compliment each other perfectly in my use. I really want a sync between them for like notes or web browsing like the hp slate and pre 3 will have i want to be working on a project on my ipad tap my phone to it then be on the go and vice versa that would be amazing!

I use my phone primarily for the photo apps, instagram and others, as well as calls & texts. Everything else over to the iPad. I remember Steve Jobs commenting once that he wanted the iPad to come out before the iPhone, after having the iPad I totally understand what he means by that.
