so in case you haven’t heard, it’s a thing. I’m expecting to see a higher than avg sample saying yes here but let’s see.

Yup, 17 days of owning a MBP 2018, it just happened to me this morning while watching a video with MPV, and torrenting (Transmission) in the background. Running on Mojave with nothing plugged-in, not even power cable.

I was fast-forwarding the video with the Right button, and the system just froze. Can't seem to reproduce it though. Fingers-crossed hopefully it won't happen again.

I had one KP due to BridgeOS 15 days after purchase on my 13" model, was asleep overnight not connected to anything except power and when I lifted the lid in the morning I saw the KP. It is now a little over a month old and haven't had anymore. I did turn off all security options since then as I wanted to do a clean install to Mojave using USB and didn't want issues.

So far so good but each time I lift the lid I hope I haven't had another kp.

Have you been able to turn them back on? Otherwise are you willing to sacrifice the security as a "solution" to the problem?

To be honest I haven't even thought about turning it back on as none of my other macbooks have ever had that security option. I will probably just end up leaving it off.

I had some crashes that were related to bridgeOS. It seemed to be happening when I connected/disconnected peripherals like a display or when i closed/opened the lid while a display was connected.

Well I spoke too soon. Woke up this morning to another KP. It was sleeping all night, lid down, not connected to anything or even power. The ONLY thing that I have re enabled was find my Mac a couple of days ago as I turned it off because my battery was draining quickly during sleep. Have turned it off again now, will see if I get another KP.

So, what's the bottomline? Are some 2018 MBPs totally immune to this problem? Otherwise, how can one buy one of these knowing such issue?
It would seem that some are, and its hard to know. I am sitting right next to two of them, 2.9 ultimate config stock models that have not had a single issue, one was bought on day 1 and the other about a month old. Running Premiere editing 4k video 14 hours a day and doing misc other photo work etc.

I was getting these until I updated to beta 5 with a SMC reset. Haven't had one in about 5 days now;). I was only getting it when Mac was sleeping overnight...

How can we check if we had KP?
Where do they registre?

Hi,

I posted this in the big thread on this issue, but since it probably got buried:
"
If you want to check if you've had a KP while you weren't at your computer, you can go to /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ProxiedDevice-Bridge/. If you see a file panic-full-.... .ips, that was an instance of a KP associated with the BridgeOS.
"

Hope you don't have to deal with this issue and find nothin there.
