been a month and some change, and it's been perfect. besides 1 very minor design flaw, i have literally no complaints with this BEAST. :D

The only problem with mine is that it creaks when I close it, but it's my fault that I've been too lazy to do anything about it. :p Otherwise, no, no problems.

You can get your hinge fixed at the apple store. They "loosen" it up. It's really fast to do too.

I've taken mine in a total of 4 times IIRC, gotta take it in again soon, superdrive has broken, it was the reason for my last visit, didn't even lasted 6 months... Very disappointed with this machine and Apples choice of words whenever I bring it in, I take good care of my stuff but they always suggest otherwise.

My power suply died, and it did cost 80€ to replace

Otherwise my mbp is the best computer i ever owned.

Nope. Not even close. Among the various issues I've had, some have been software based, while 1 was a hardware issue (USB ports not charging correctly.). Now I'm seeing that certain ipod/iphone cables don't work correctly with it, when the exact same cable works just fine with the AC adapter that came with my iphone and also works fine on my desktop pc, but not my new macbook pro.

I have been planning to buy a MBP 15" i7 since before they came out.

But knowing there could be "issues", I bought a 13" MBP 2.53GHz shortly before the new ones came out. This machine has worked wonderfully with no problems at all.

I'm going to wait another couple of months on the 15" i7 until issues have been pretty much all sorted out, then give my 13" MBP to the wife and bag the 15" i7 then. :)

I bought a 13" MBP when it first came out. Worked 100% perfectly until about 8 months in. The SD Card reader just wouldn't read a card. I wouldn't call it a major problem, but unfortunately it required a week to get the parts and 2 days for repair because the SD card reader is stuck on the logic board, so it needed an entirely new logic board. Since then, no problems and going on 11 months. I have Applecare but I have a feeling this things gonna keep kicking for at least the next 2 years before I upgrade.

Well mine is 3 1/2 years old.

I have had these issues:

Battery died and was replaced under warranty, but replacement is now dying too. One of the fans is a bit noisy most of the time, specially when the MBP is hot. Superdrive got bricked about two years ago after a firmware update - I miss it sometimes but I really don't need it anymore.

I had to replace the keyboard, but that was my 3 year old boy who spilled water over it, so its not apples fault.

3.5 months in for me...

I've had a few issues, but those were mostly related to my Mac N00b status.

Occasionally I will forget to eject a USB attached volume, and in sleep mode the machine will get quite hot.

Other than that, it has been excellent even with Parallels and BootCamp.

6 weeks here. Not a single defect and the system runs like a champ. Never had a crash or a kernel panic at all. I've thrown it through its paces as well, with a Win7 bootcamp partition for .NET development and full CS5 on the OS X side. Best hardware (and software) I've ever purchased!
