Yeah, my package is 10.1 lbs also bro. i was curious about that too. but if u think about it, the mbp is about 5 lbs and the double box + extra plugs probably equal another 5 lbs.

Buttttt then again i've seen peoples package weight and it would = like 4.0 lbs....i dunno, im not gunna stress it. My MBP better be here tomorrow or im going to go INSANE....literally.
 
5.6 lbs and another .5 for the adapter plus box materials etc and the brown box it comes in... 10 lbs is probably about right.

You're in NYC right? I don't understand how yours got shipped, but mine is still in Memphis. Mine has been in Memphis since 12:51am!

Go back and look at some of the other posts. There seems to be a way to figure it out. If your's departed MEM at 3:28 so did a lot of others (like mine) however I got another scan at 4:36 which I believe is "wheels up". So I know mine is a 6-7 hour flight so I expect I'll see another scan about 7-8 tonight sometime. Then it will sit until 0530 ish when the bin gets sorted and placed on a truck that leaves the Terminal at 0900. Two weeks ago my first MBP got here at 0930.

You know you could have gone to any Apple store in Seattle and bought what you ordered in stock. Except for the hard drive speed in which case they sell at Fry's for about $100.

Just saying.
 
Today was the last possible day to meet what I was quoted when I ordered guess what hasn't arrived.... my first mac since they were APPLE (well I had a lombard but that was free)....

Def thinking I should have gone with a Think Pad At least they don't lie and quote you "When we ****** Feel Like it" for custom orders..... Apple Tax just aint worth this bs service

Some people have called, in situations like this, and Apple has given stuff in a bid to make things right. I believe someone on these forums got free AppleCare?

No, Westchester NY right outside of NYC. I ordered on the 22nd with 2-3 day shipping. FedEx got the info on the 30th, and shipped on the 1st (which was saturday) so pretty much i got screwed over by the weekend, and monday was my "official" 1st day of shipment by 2-3 days.....so tomorrow should be my 3/4th day (im planning on calling apple and seeing if i can get my $18.00 refund back for the hell of it). So it SHOULD BE HERE TOMORROW BY 10:30am like the FedEx estimated delivery says.

What about everyone else? what day did it ship out and what shipment choice did you all choose?
 
Ordered mine back on the 22nd of April and it is sitting in Memphis now. I got rid of my Imac before I ordered my new one and it has been the longest wait of my life. Can't wait for it to arrive by 10:30 in the morning!!!!!!!:cool:

Yeah man, I totally got screwed. I ordered on the 21st with 2-3 day shipping. Fedex got the info on the 30th, shipped it on the 1st (same as you). It left Shanghai 5/3 at 11:54 pm and arrived in Memphis at 12:13am/12:51AM.

It hasn't left since. I wonder what the hell is going on. I'm not in Westchester though, I'm in NYC. Mine says it will be here by 10:30am Tomorrow, but it is seeming like that will not happen.

Well i'm going off the estimated delivery from fedex, from what i've heard from a couple of people, they've got their mbps a day earlier then expected delivery. So if mine doesn't come tomorrow i will be furious. im sure yours will be there by tomorrow also.
 
paranoid...help!

random thought....i ordered the Hi-Res Glossy Wide screen display. How will i know it is in fact the Hi-res screen? i've never owned or used a macbook pro enough to "notice" the difference from the older models. will there be a setting i can check when i load up the computer to see the screen resolution? or will there be a list of configs on the box i can read?

Just want to make sure i don't get jipped of my money due to bad luck and me not getting the hi-res screen i asked for...because honestly if they through on a regular glossy screen i 100% know i wouldn't know the difference and i would be playing myself thinking its the hi-res when it really isnt.

just a bit of paranoia creeping in due to the long wait for my macbook pro!

Mine just landed in ANC from MEM. So, unless FedEx are total jerks and don't care about 2-3 days, I'll have mine in the morning. HOWEVER, if they do like I think they'll do, they'll put it off until Thursday and make it 4 (business) day service which will actually be day 7.

We'll see.

Neither did I until I thought mine went out. I went to South Center (I do a bit of business in Seattle) and they showed me how on my old white MB. I had no idea all the hard drives are the same size. It was sooooo easy. With the new MBP though it's a little different and I think removing the back may void the warranty so probably a good call nonetheless.

I was just at an Apple store in Seattle last week and I looked at the hi-res anti-glare they had in stock and a glossy low res side by side. The print type is smaller on the Hi-res. You can also go to Settings - Display and check to see if you are at the hi-res numbers there.

Warranty is the other thing that had me concerned. I've heard replacing the HDD doesn't void the warranty (except for the HDD obviously) but I wouldn't want to risk it really.

BTW, any new info on your status? Min is the same. It has been the same for 19 hours. Its too late to call FedEx though.

Hey FedF**k! Guess what? UPS is going to get me the gear I ordered for MY computer that has been at your shipping facility in Memphis for damn near a day, TOMORROW. IT came from Pennsylvania and is now as I type this in Seattle. What do you say about that?

I would think my plane from Memphis would have landed by now and I would be seeing my MBP in Houston but nope.

Mine is on the ground in Anchorage and should be in my hands by noon. Believe me, I'll be posting the second it arrives.

That's good. Mine is still in Memphis. WTF is this about? :confused:

I'm calling tomorrow if I don't see that it has hit Seattle by the time I get up tomorrow morning.
