It was a 9C68 matte (I believe thats samsung). I don't know what the new laptop will have but hopefully the screen is good.

I ordered my 15", 2.2 MBP on 2nd sep at Comex show from an Apple premium reseller Epicentre@Orchard in Singapore.
Got it at a discount of SGD 300.
I was told a waiting period of 2-3 weeks.
Its going to be 4 weeks and there is no sign of it at all.
I've been calling up regularly only to be told its gonna take longer coz even they don't know exactly when they are going to get the stock.
Right now I'm told a month or so more.
I have also tried posing as a new customer and was flatly told a waiting period of 2 months for 15" and 3-4 weeks for 17" one.
I also called up couple of other resellers in singapore...and everyone has 1 month waiting period (Though I am sure this could easily become more than 2 months once you pay the money ).
I just want to know, has anyone in singapore received their MBP in recent
times?
On the forum I am seeing ppl who ordered it online (in other countries though) are getting it in 2-4 weeks time.
I am going to be a new convert to Mac...and am desperately looking forward to own one.
I don't know when my wait is going to get over. 🙁

I have an LG matte screen... I can't tell what week it is, sorry. I hope you have better luck with your replacement.

I threw my order in last night for a MBP 15 inch with a 7,200RPM drive along with the glossy display.
For anyone else out there considering ordering the same thing, also take note that the estimated time of delivery here to Michigan is October 17th.
With such a long wait, I wonder if the little Chinese boy who's making it has to deliver it himself?

I believe that the build week is the third and fourth numbers in the SERIAL number.
I'll be joining your ranks waiting for a new MBP but I have to wait until November to start waiting!

Heyya, From singapore too. i am sorry to heard that this happens to u and u r new to mac too. No worries. they wouldn't cheat your money. Just give Epicenter a call regarding about this. I am sure they will look into this matter. If the problem is not resolved. Pls ask for a refund of money and order online instead. It wil be much faster for u. I ordered my apple stuffs through online. i ordered mine online and took less then a day to reach me, faster than my ipod.

Anyone waiting for their notebook, just to note- its Chinese Golden Week, if your notebook hasnt shipped out you wont be getting it till next week, this is based on words from fedex and apple- my order just got bumped again- JOY😡, anyhow, people who ordered iTouch and iMacs are going through this pain already!
I just checked the status. They just shipped it. 😀 I guess they shipped mine a day earlier than projected. I should be getting it before Friday since I got the 2-3 DAY shipping. I can't waittt.
Updating my status on getting my MBP 2.4 4gig ram 7200 rpm
Ordered the unit 16/08/07 and finally arrived at the Uni apple store on campus on 21/09/07 only to be DOA when it turned up, On the 5/10/07 it came back from being fixed and I was able to take it home only to get the kernel panic errors every initial boot but seems to be OK once restarted except on 3 occasions (not sure what hardware it relates to? and I will be running though process to see if I can find out what it is related to )
I have also found that I need to restart it to get the wireless to pick up a signal but once it restarts it finds the signal with no problems (maybe this is the problem) but never on the first boot , so it looks like I am going to have to send it back again to have it fixed not happy at this point as it has been a long time to get my unit and I am seriously needing to complete some music projects

I remember going to the store ordering the top end BTO config. of the 12" PB when it just came out, picked it up the next week! Same with my G5 PowerMac.
Come on Apple, keep your customers informed even if something is going wrong in production, it's a lot more credible than just keeping them waiting and telling them it might take a "while" for "some" reason
Now I just realise it will probably ship with Leopard! A lot of people will be happy getting it for free, I actualy couldn't care less. Since my income is depending on that machine I will not install a new OSX 'till version 2 or 3, just to make sure I'm not stuck with some tiny issue that disturbs my workflow. So is there some point in the middle where we can meet Apple? Maybe throw in free AppleCare for those who suffer?
I will now get a cup of coffee, and switch to working mode 🙂

You could save so much money by purchasing it somewhrer else...
I ordered at a German Reseller and waited for 5 weeks... Then I cancelled it and orderd it from the german Apple Onlinestore and it will be here in 14 days 😀 yeeehaaa. Finally
I know but I just spent 2 months of research to find out my Dual G5 wich I upgraded to 6GB of RAM, had problems with the 3rd party RAM I installed, most of my applications kept crashing for no reason it seemed, after running Memtest I found out one of the pairs I installed was corrupt. So with that in mind I just ordered the extra RAM from Apple Hoping this problem will not occur to me again fingers crossed
Just came from the apple store where i took my MBP too, They have called it DOA again and are going to get me a replacement i hope its third time lucky 😡

Dude, I am sorry to hear that, I would be PISSED as hell, demand that you be compensated for all this lost time and hassle, that this is COMPLETELY unacceptable. dont sit there quietly, this is your right, you paid the money!

So i have spoken to the apple store and they are sending it to a apple tech and if they need to replace the card i will be sent a new unit rather the a repaired one...I AM REALLY PISSED AT APPLE NOW and sorry for shouting!
