Mine just left Indianapolis so I guess I won't be getting mine today :( (It's coming to S. Carolina) Congrats to all of you who do get yours today!

Aug 22, 2007 11:18 AM Delivery exception BUDD LAKE, NJ Customer not available or business closed - Signature required

Of course they decide to deliver in the 10 minute window where no one is home at my house:rolleyes:

Well that would be my typical Irish luck at work once again. It makes perfect sense to me that everyone would get theirs today and I wouldn't. Oh well. What can you do? Enjoy yours for me too!

I'm Irish too (well, partly), so that ain't it.

Don't fret. You'll have it first thing in the morning (before 10:30).

I won't be able to enjoy mine much today anyway as I'll be at work a little late and I've got a class tonight. :(

:apple:

Arrived!!!

finally arrived... one day earlier than tracking indicated... but of course I'm at work. for those who got theirs in the same batch, tell us if your MBP have any problems. most likely ours were all produced together!

I am impatiently waiting for mine to be delivered today also. It just arrived into town today. Went home for lunch hoping it would come then, but it didn't. Now we wait...

I hope they're all good!!

Migrating a piece at a time

So I've been playing on-and-off all day. There may or may not be a tiny yellowing at the bottom 1-2" of the 15" screen. I'm sure I wouldn't notice it if I wasn't paranoid. No dead pixels and the lid closes as it should. There is a 1" blemish ("permanent smudge") on the outside lid near the :apple:. I've decided I can live with it as opposed to waiting who-knows-how-long for a replacement. I can't see it when using it. :)

I ran Migration Assistant but wasn't happy with the results. I've always seen a new computer as a chance to start fresh and install apps as I discover I actually need them, bring documents but not all the downloaded files I haven't looked at in ages, etc. The old iMac isn't going anywhere so I can fetch things as I need them.

However, regarding Mail: The items on my .Mac account synced automatically but how do I get the local mailboxes?

Thanks

mine is here!! one day early, no yellow screen, thank goodness i received an LG one, one corner of the screen does not go all the way down when closed (like 1.5mm, if that), i can live with it, or can't i??? opinions would be welcomed :) is it something that would happen in time?

Prepared for shipment...how long to ship?

I ordered my MBP on August 10, and today it's status has been changed to "prepared for shipment". This waiting is pure agony, I got my iPod nano on Monday, and I thought that might keep me calm - but it just made me want the book more!

How long does it tend to take to go from "prepared for shipment" to "shipped" usually?

I'm going to order one tomorrow... how accurate are the estimated times for the stock models? (2.2 GHz)

I hope it's less than 7-10 days. Too bad you can only use the gov't discount online or I'd buy it at an Apple store.

I ordered my 15in MBP on August 14th. The only thing I upgraded was the hard drive. It says it will ship between the 23rd and the 27th, and it will be delivered between the 27th and sept. 4th. The problem is that I leave for school on the first. What are the odds of me getting it before I leave.

I ordered mine the same day, 2.4 15" stock, and my dates are:
Ships by: Aug 23 - Aug 28
Delivers by: Aug 27 - Sep 4

My classes start on September 4th and I was hoping to have it before then so I'd have time to set it up and check it out. I guess I have a little less to worry about though because I commute from home. It seems that they are delivered very quickly after being set for shipping, so I would expect that they would be shipped sometime before then. The date for September 4th is really just one day off from shipping on August 31st. Most people seem to be receiving their MBPs at least the day before the last date that they'll ship.

You might be able to pick it up that Saturday (the day you'll be leaving) assuming it hasn't shipped already and it's fairly close to you. Good luck!

I don't know if I should ask this question in this thread or not, cause I didn't want to open a new thread;

I've been waiting two weeks to get my MBP from my local apple store, but as you all know, they're out for two weeks, and they don't have any idea when they might have them. I wanted to purchase it online, but I've heard from a apple genius that if we have a problem with the unite then we can't take it to Genius bar and we need to return it to the factory (even if i buy it from another store, I have to take it back to the same store.) Is that true ?? if that's the case I prefer to keep on waiting !! is there any advantages of purchasing from store over online store?

I have heard conflicting reports. I have heard people say what the Genius told you, but have also heard of people buying online and then taking it to an apple store.

Someone here should be able to clarify.

Prepared for Shipment...

Prepared for Shipment
Ships by: 21 Aug, 2007 - 24 Aug, 2007
Delivers by: 29 Aug, 2007 - 04 Sep, 2007

Based on your experiences, what is the timeframe between "Prepared for Shipment" & the delivery date? Should i really wait at least for another 7 days (so Aug 29th as apple stated) to receive it?

Thx
