I ordered the same one except matte. Mine is said to ship on the 31st. YES! With what blaklaybul said, it's most likely I got a "non-yellow" screen MacBook Pro.
That really does suck. I was planning on going home this weekend and picking up my laptop and now it seems I have to go another few days without it... Any way to pick it up from them before then? Cause from the way they ship things it will be in my town by saturday.
Mine was ordered on Aug 9 2007 and shipped on Aug 25 and received by my University yesterday (but there are some back-to-school backlogs with out shipping and receiving apparently....grrrr).
What 'week' in production does this qualify as?
Does this mean that I've sidestepped the yellow-screen issue? How can I tell?
It's a 15 inch 2.4GHz, 160GB 7200rpm, glossy SR MBP.....

I am on the same boat man. It seems like our laptops are on the same plane. Mine is not getting to my house until Tuesday either. I am looking into driving to my local fedex distibutor on Saturday to see if I can pick it up. I am still unsure how to get a hold of these people though. =/.
Is it possible to go to the fedex on saturday? If so you will just have made my day.

It most likely will not be at the local FedEx office until the wee hours of Tuesday Morning.
I'm also in this situation. I'm a little upset because I paid extra for 2-day shipping. Mine was shipped Wednesday. Now I'm not supposed to get it till Tuesday. Does that sound like 2-days to you?
Do you think Fed Ex can compensate for something like that?

I don't believe the clock starts ticking until the order hits the US mainland distribution facility which in many cases is Indianapolis.

Well, I have to admit, I couldn't stand the wait, so I travelled to the new Glasgow store and picked one up there. 120gb drive, but I was planning for external too anyway.
Everything looks fine from here. 🙂

Mine has not shipped yet.I haven't even seen a message like "prepared for shipping".
Anyone else with the same shipping-delivery dates?
That's what my 1st MBP looked like, then I returned it. however, I went to Apple store and did the yellow test on all MBP...they all appear to be yellow. I am beginning to wonder if yellow is normal.

I also ordered mine on the 22nd. Even if it shipped today (31st) I doubt you would get it before the 5th. I don't expect mine to ship before next week.

I think historically people are seeing ship dates that fall into the "Delivers by" range more than not. I paid the additional $18 for 2-Day delivery after shipment. I hoping for shipping to take place at least by the end of next week (9/7-8th). *With baited breath*
On the bright side though, I did received my .Mac box the very next day! 😀

What gives? I don't see anything wrong with that. Because of the LED, the shades of the screen will differ depending on your angle, just like to old big-screen tvs. However, I don't see anything wrong with your screen.
the one i got looks exactly like this.
except in real life the effect is definitely more noticeable, as I suspect the case is with yours.
They are not all yellow. I did my own test and most were Samsung displays that were yellowed. LG displays do not have this problem.
So it's "normal" for a Samsung to be yellow, but I think that's unacceptable.
