What is Apple’s obsession with seeing what’s behind things? This isn’t a HUD in a fighter jet. If I’m activating Control Center it’s because I want to see or engage with something. Why do I need to still have focus on what’s on the screen?

If I scroll notifications, I’d actually like to be able to read them. If I open a folder I want to see the icons clearly.

Speaking of folders, why are we still limited to 9 icons at a time in a box in the middle of the screen?
I think they're trying to slowly work out some ideas that will be key when real AR glasses become a thing.

Agree 100%.

I really think "cool looking interfaces" in TV & Movies have infected the minds of "designers".

This is all for the "look" and not for the usability.

And the one time where it would actually be important to exactly see what's on the screen, namely when adjusting brightness, they still blur it. (On Android, the screen specifically gets un-blurred while adjusting brightness.)

Not a bad idea to use this feature... I will try with reduce animations and see if my iPhone is faster !

I already hate the new glass icon look i prefer dark. With App icons its ok, but with game icons its horrid.

Android 16 was just released today and loaded up on my Pixel. Very few new features but a serious redesign under the hood with api hooks, fixes and performance tuning. Solid release so far. The point releases will build in features on top of a solid foundational GA version. I like that approach. Gemini got ‘snappier’ too 😁.

I remember several tweaks during the beta builds of Mac OS X 10.5’s dock. It’ll work out.

It doesn't look very appealing nor does it add any value or functionality. I would've preferred some method of reaching the control center via a long swipe down to differentiate between spotlight search. A lot of project managers just make unnecessary UI changes to stay relevant/fill their resumes with fluff. Meh!

why does Apple keep putting lipstick on a pig? At this point it feels like all they do is circa-2010 Android skins on top of an ancient OS. The OS needs a complete revamp with new and innovative features added to allow for faster workflow, more customization, and more automation. The hardware is fantastic but the software really is a drag. I find myself enjoying the recent versions of Android more than ios and I say this as a massive Apple fanboi with at least 15 Macs at home.

The endgame is to replace the wallpaper by a feed from the camera. At least then you can put a finger on the lense for better contrast.
Close to the what Apple is intending. The idea is to mimic VisionOS, so consider iOS and iPadOS can keep the rear camera ON while maintaining privacy with on-device live feed with no recording while using LiquidGlass that way it will resemble a poor-persons VisionOS where the iPhone is a viewfinder and LiquidGlass is the UI/UX similar to VisionOS.

People always hate at first consider going from Skeuomorph to flat and now LiquidGlass, eventually some will dislike and some won't even care. As the World Turns.

The liquid glass is cool looking but seems like a way to create a need for hardware resources to make older devices obsolete faster. It’s really completely unnecessary from a user perspective. Seems like it’s self serving to Apple business model.

It's not so much that I hate it. It's that it needs work. This is an early beta. Were half of you even born when iOS 7 beta launched? That thing was a gross mess of blinding white and text that was so thin you could barely read it.
