Okay...?

Apple must be the only major PC maker not to be offering Broadwell based computers now.

And when has Apple ever released a new computer based on other companies offering a universally-available chip?

Apple typically updates their products every year or so.

It has been less than a year since the MBA's last refresh. We still have ~2 months to go.

Broadwell has only been available for a couple months. It's unreasonable to expect Apple to have Broadwell products out already given their well-understood release schedule.

Not sure who cares about Broadwell anyway since it will offer only minor improvements over current Haswell MBAs. I wouldn't consider upgrading my Haswell MBA in a million years.

Wel I've gone and got myself a 2014 Refurb model now and saved myself a few hundred pounds so I'm happy! (but have 14 days to return in case something does finally happen)

I keep coming about this ->||<- close to buying a 2014 MBA 11". It's hard to see that any minor refresh on the current MBA lineup could make any difference, really. As far as the rMBA goes, there is so much up in the air (that rumor thing again ;) ) that it's hard to feel very strongly about that (will it have more than one port? what will the CPU be? how's the runtime going to be?). I think you did well - enjoy the machine.

Well MacRumors certainly did :)

There was ONE article about that, and was quoting a Czech site (written in Czech) Only one. If you read the forum posts, lots of people discounted that article. Usually there is a lot of rumors popping up as you get closer to the real event. And usually the rumors are coming from known tech writers who have a history of getting it right (and none of the ones I have read making accurate predictions in the past live in Czech AFAIK).

My guess would be within the next two months, but the wild card is the MBA r12 that RUMORS say is coming. Getting a new product in production can push back planned dates, and I suspect any refresh of the existing MBA line would occur at the same time as the new product release. There have been reports of problems with the production line for the display panels, and also Intel significantly delayed release of broadwell CPUs over the initial roll-out plan.

So who knows?

The MBA will be updated on Feb 30. 100% guaranteed, not a rumor. You can bet on it.

I have also been putting off for a couple weeks now buying, As i was hoping the new one was coming. I gave mine to a worker. So it's been frustrating not having a laptop. But unfortunately I need to bite the bullet and just buy the current model as i can't wait any longer.

I know though as soon as i click buy. The new one will be announced haha

The only noble thing to do is to buy one now and "take one for the team". ;)

I pushed the button on a refurb one. Ordered the i5 1.4ggz with 8gb ram and it turned up today. Nice surprise was they sent me the 1.7ghz i7 model. Happy days!

Well I bought an 11 inch one today. So it's too late for me now. But I'm not that bothered if it gets an update.
