Have a bottle of water in your house? I dropped mine so the floor is wet. I bet you all have a wet floor.

I've got to say so many of you guys posting in this thread are jerks.

I've had my iphone 4 for about 5-6 weeks, I got my case about 2 weeks ago, but unfortunately it was naked up until that point. I was extremely careful when handling the phone but alas it also has a severely scratched up lens. I don't know how this happened, I've never dropped it or slid it across any abrasive surface. I always sat it down very gently on smooth tables/other surfaces. Regardless of what you people say the scratched lens IS affecting my photos, I was very impressed with the camera when I first got the phone but then one day I the picture through the lens was putting a bloomy or glow effect on everything. My pictures look exactly like the ones posted by Mherm88.

In the couple of months since this thread was started has anyone come up with a way to fix your scratched lenses? I have not called Apple yet but I will be doing so soon.

My iPhone 4 has been naked and carried about in my pocket since launch day. There are a few scratches on the back, but nothing serious at all. And certainly nothing on the camera lens. The phone takes beautiful photos, looks attractive, and generally tries its best to be a great phone to me. I set my phone down on its back on all kinds of surfaces, ranging from beds, couches, desks, floors, brick walls, and many different things in between. It's a phone that's carried around everywhere. It's going to get scratched and stop looking like it just came out of the box at some point. I just accept this and move on with life :)

So, I don't have any scratches on my lens and my iPhone is case-less. What do I do now? What am I doing wrong?

I'm bringing this piece of crap back to Apple. If other people can have scratches on their camera, I want them too.

This, combined with my perfecty functioning proximity sensor is the last straw!

It's going back.

First two days I got my iP4 I used it naked but then discovered 7 hairline scratches on the bottom of the camera..luckily not far enough up to disturb the image. Ran to the ATT store nearby and picked up a cheap $10 case. Pretty good case actually.

I don't set my phone on hard surfaces. I doubt my pillow/covers/paperi lay my phone on has scratched my phone.

My iPhone 4 is naked and I have no scratches anywhere including the camera lens. Why do I not have scratches? Because I don't keep the phone in my pockets. I use a belt holster outside of home. Inside I keep the phone placed on a soft surface that will not scratch! If you take care of the phone it want have scratches.

Its only the front made of that first of all...
Second I have 0 scratches, no cases on mine either... Same with every other iphone i owned. People abuse **** and blame it on the product...

amen brother!

I don't have scratches either, but I'd rather get some than be seen wearing my phone in a belt holster. :D

No scratches here.... I would like my 2000.00 in pennies please!..have a nice day.:D

I've been rocking a naked ip4 since day one. Zero camera house scratches.

It should be noted that I don't care take care of my phone either. In and out of my jeans, dropped onto tiles and even splashed with melted chocolate!:D

I have small light scratches on my camera lens in particular. I too wondered about the differences in the backing material. I don't baby my phone and have it in and out of cases. People that set there phone down on a little soft bed every time they take it out of their pocket make me sick. I don't care about the micro-scratches as long as they don't get in the way of my hipstamatic masterpieces.

mine's all scratched up

when i took my iphone out of the box i was wearing microfiber gloves. I then lovingly wrapped it in microfiber cloth and stuck it in a microfiber pouch. I've only taken it out once to use as a phone and i had my head wrapped in a microfiber turbin. Low and behold the next time i took it out 2 months later it was scratched all to hell. This glass sucks helicopter my kiester. Screw you Jobs!!
