I was ready to go at 2:50 am. 2 phones in hand, and my MacBook Pro. I'm located just outside of Boston, MA and the online Apple Store (on all devices) didn't open up for me until ~3:10 AM or so. It was delayed for my friend in Italy too, but it opened for him at about 3:08 AM.

He managed to snag a single AT&T 256 Space Gray, paid in full. Delivers November 3rd.

Myself on the other hand, I tried to order two phones from my phone. (Replace my phone, and "another line") Space Gray 256, and a 64GB Silver, both paid in full on AT&T. Got to my cart and the Apple Store app threw an error saying I could not checkout with two carrier activations? (Two separate lines on same AT&T account!) I have never seen this error before. Both had ship by Nov 3 but once I went back and removed one, they dropped to 17-24. Ended up having to order one phone from my phone, and my wife's phone from her own phone.

My email confirmation time is 3:14 AM.

In years past I've gone to a local AT&T store that's in a small quiet shopping plaza and have always been able to walk right in with only 2-3 people in line. I may try that on Friday, and if I can get two phones, simply cancel my orders with Apple.

mine has not. been thsat was since 30minb after preorders when it finally went thru. I Called t-mobile AFTER i secured the one from apple and getting my t-mobile one on the 3rd.
 
Well guess I will stick to ordering from At&T after this, didn’t realize that Apple favored IUP over others

Verizon is the clear pre-order winner. My order with them via there iOS app has an email confirmation of :01. Phone is already in the USA.

If VZW's CS wasn't soo duche... I would consider leaving ATT. Even if they are more expensive, you pay for what you get, but such an arrogant company. Att isn't the best, but not the worst either.. and the CS is top notch.
 
I agree with this. If IUP is supposed to be Apple's best offering, they should entice people with this.
That would tick off the carriers. The reality is every option has its trade offs. The preapproval option was sweet this year. 2 or three clicks to order. Now if the app could come up same time for everyone....
Yet I wasn’t able to get into ATT any faster, and I’ve seen ATT over promise - fail to deliver against the estimate.
Apple has always done better than promised when I couldn’t get launch with Apple.
 
They are since a lot of IUP people got there orders moved up but us paying cash or otherwise get nothing.
I agree. I assumed Apple would enjoy my full payment/no contract up front (plus Apple Care), guess we're finding out who has priority now.

(However, as others have mentioned- I think they're trying to make up for all the upgrade program issues last year).

I have a feeling a lot of us with the Nov 17th date will get the Nov 3rd bump today.

No order change confirmation yet though... cautiously optimistic...not just a browser glitch either.. matches this date on my watch app...
 
You originally had 17-24? Either way, congrats!
No I had an 11/3 but do to an AT&T issue mine went to 11/15 yesterday afternoon and even a manager at Apple told me there was no way I'd get Friday.

Like I said I'm cautiously optimistic right now because that thing still has to go in a box and my account has not been charged yet.

Great stuff, very happy to see this happening with more frequency. What I find interesting is when I viewed my order just now is states that it was last updated 1:07 today. Still same shipping time frame Nov. 17th-24th. Could be Apple is updating these on daily basis and bumping up orders.

I could be wrong- but I think that "last updated" time is when the app or website reloaded for your order status page.

I noticed my time changes if I exit and reload the Apple Store app each time. Basically just shows you the last update from the server. (American Airlines app displays something similar when checking flight status/ticket updates)

Happy for you- but you were never part of the 17-24 group that this thread is talking about (to avoid creating false hope for others). Yes, I know it's first world problems- but hey! that's why we're on an Apple fan site. :apple::D

Congrats they got your AT&T order issue fixed though!
