Apple already confirmed to Arstechnica that the 27-inch iMac has reached end of life. See the very end of the article.

"It's obviously still coming. People who think otherwise are completely out of touch."It's obviously still coming. People who think otherwise are completely out of touch. That 27-inch segment is way too big on both sides of the PC and Mac market to ignore.
More importantly, this whole integrated desktop form factor is what Apple does best. No one else can make an 11.5mm thin high performance computer.
show us that Apple confirmed that NO bigger imacs will come in the future (not just the 27 size)Sorry to trample on your hubris, but Apple confirmed to Arstechnica that the 27-inch iMac has reached end of life.

they just confirmed that the 27" size imac has reached end of life...
The game is in the words
Personally I really hate iMac as a product. All-in-one computer is the worst of both worlds. It has to be thin it's incapable to handle the heat of desktop chips and/or graphics so it must do with some laptop parts. But it's not really portable either since it has 24" display or more, and you have to plug it in all the time? I don't know why anyone would pick an iMac over a true desktop, or a laptop.
I've been burned buying an 27" iMac once for various problems it had, I'm glad that Apple decides to keep display and Mac separate despite some of its usual quirks (i.e you need a Mac to use the Studio Display to its fullest potential), but it's a nice change of direction.

The Studio setup is twice the price. What are Apple offering people looking for the lower end (but still great) performance but with a larger screen, ie the people who bought 27” iMacs in the past?Dont think so. An 27inch iMac with M1 Max would be essentially the same thing as Mac Studio with M1 Max and Apple Studio Display. Apple's messages is clear to me: If you want desktop M1 Max, you should buy Mac Studio. If you dont need it, go for M1 iMac. The iMac Pro was a necessary as the Mac Mini couldn't offer the level of performance many desktop users needed, and at the same time couldn't afford a Mac Pro. With Mac Studio they already fill that gap.
sales of the bigger imac speak for themselves , and second Gurman and other still wait for a bigger imac proSince we're demanding ridiculous things here, how about you show us that there is a bigger iMac coming?
At the moment, there is ZERO evidence of bigger iMacs coming, but you are free to believe whatever you like. Hope is a powerful thing.
Agreed. Apple made it pretty clear in Tuesdays presentation that the upgrade path from the 27 inch iMac Pro was the Studio.Apple already confirmed to Arstechnica that the 27-inch iMac has reached end of life. See the very end of the article.
He is right, i also looked for the 27" m1 max/ultra, and the price would be around the M1 max studio+studio display maybe $100 differenceThe Studio setup is twice the price. I suspect it’ll be the rumoured Mac mini with m2 pro & studio display. So hang on in in there if you don’t need to upgrade yet.The Studio setup is twice the price. Tell him to get an ssd for his computer, it will run faster tooWell I'm glad that I didn't wait and bought a 24" M1 iMac to replace my old 27" last year.
My father on the other hand is going to be very disappointed, as his 2015 27" iMac is failing (fusion drive kaput!) and he likes the larger screen size for his photos. He's certainly not going to be in the market for a Mac Studio, though perhaps I may be able to bring him around to considering a Mac Mini with the studio display. All he wants is a large screen not insane processing power, and I know he'd much prefer an all-in-one.
Tell your father to find a Mac repair shop that will install an ssd where the fusion drive currently is. The install may cost around $90 plus the cost of the new drive. He’ll feel like he has a brand new computer that’s better than ever.Well I'm glad that I didn't wait and bought a 24" M1 iMac to replace my old 27" last year.

Your 27" iMac is a Studio display paired with the upcoming M1 Pro (maybe M2) mini. The Studio setup is twice the price. What are Apple offering people looking for the lower end (but still great) performance but with a larger screen, ie the people who bought 27” iMacs in the past?
You said it before I did! ?Tell him to get an ssd for his computer, it will run faster too
Even if it does come, It'll only start at that price point if it has a basic M1 in it I think. It'll probably be higher for the Pro/Max chips27” is too close to 24”. iMac Pro aside, I think we see a 30” iMac at some point starting at ~$2,000. There is a big hole in the lineup now.
I am fully with you on this. I was personally really surprised when I read that people were seeing John Ternus' statement as 'the end of the 27" iMac'. I only thought that he means the Mac Pro is the only device that hasn't received Apple Silicon yet (as there already is an AS iMac), all other devices have (at least partially) received it, as they still offer the Intel Mac Mini.I think that when Apple is talking about Products such as "one more to come -> Mac Pro" they are referencing to product lines and not individual products.
A bigger iMac wouldn't be a new product line, it would just sit next to the 24"iMac. they actually do the same by naming both MacBook Pro models, just MacBook Pro. They rarely say 14" and 16" MacBook Pro. They just name the line.
What I am trying to say is: When they say there is only a Mac Pro still coming, they are not saying that there is no bigger iMac coming. And yes, 27-inch iMac has hit its end of life, because a bigger machine will be probably bigger than that. I am sure they wouldn't sell it as a pro machine and only keep it with a M1 or M2 chip. But a bigger screen will come. Otherwise it makes no sense calling the current iMac still the "24" and not just "iMac".
