That is not true. Just a few weeks ago, I visited with a friend and we looked at several items, wireless headphones and they were charging full retail while Amazon was well below. They might price match but to the unwary they will rip you off.
You would have to be a real sap to not check at least Amazon prices before you buy anywhere.

I picked up the watch, and it went more or less ok. The box was in pretty good shape, beside some ink marks. I asked that the pick up sticker not be put on the box.

Unfortunately, when she opened it, we discovered that the bottom band didn't want to lock into place. As I bought an additional band color, it was the same way, i.e. the watch was the defective component, not the band. It wouldn't lock for a good 50-100 attempts over 30 minutes.

However, after that, it seemed to start locking. Has anyone else experienced this? My bands have always locked immediately on my watch.

She is going to swap bands every day during the return period to make sure it keeps locking.

I wonder if it had to "break in," for whatever reason, or there was some machining metal left still jamming it or something?

Overall, it was ok at Best Buy. It was nice to use a 10 percent coupon, nice to get it same day (versus waiting on Apple order). However, for ease of return if something goes wrong, I will continue to choose Apple for most items in the future.

i have bought my macs from Best Buy and they were in same packaging as Apple store. i would recommend getting it from Best buy as i am also going to buy my AW from BestBuy.

Sorry but I find Best Buy to be somewhat sleezy! If I had no choice I would buy the watch from there but I would rather order it or get one at the Apple store.

Best Buy sold me a used digital camera as new and argued about returning it telling me that it was new when they sold it to me. After arguing for over 20 minutes the manager came and was irate, told me it was impossible that it was not new, until I showed him the receipt from the first owner was found in the box along with the warranty card filled out. I do not shop there anymore.
Unfortunately, this is all too common. It seems that after a return they just box it back up and put it back out on the floor. I do my best to ensure what I'm buying is factory sealed, if not, I won't buy it.

im a big fan of best buy, mainly because ive gotten great open box discounts, a mbp retina for about 35% off the available price at the time, a b&w subwoofer for half off, a few cameras for 25% lowest available price anywhere, etcetc. open box deals can be great if you're actually in the market and a little patient.

open box aside, i dont see any difference at all in buying it at best buy or at apple. after the return policy its just a building

Best Buy, like other brick and mortar stores, isn't going to always have lower prices like Amazon.

Which makes sense, when you think about it.

They will absolutely price match, though.

We all know Amazon is far from NOT being "sleazy," too. Google Amazon employee treatment. ;)

My point being? One isn't any sleazier than the other. I've gotten good deals at both.

I bought my iMac from best buy with my movers coupon and it was already "on sale" so I saved like $150 or something. I've never had a problem with best buy. They aren't always the cheapest but will price match. If you are dumb enough not to shop around then you deserve to pay that price. I have always bought my apple headphones from them with their warranty. When they wear out after six months I get a new pair and the remaining time on my warranty is refunded.

I saw the watches at best buy. Looked it just came from apple and sitting in their cages. I don't think best buy would be in charge of packaging.

Each has to make their own choices shaped by past experience.

I absolutely agree with you. Once a store burns me bad enough, I probably won't give them my money.

Some stores I reject for other reasons. It varies. I think it is safe to say that (for the average individual) a quick stop to grab a SS AW at Best Buy for a gift will be a simple process and may well be easier and more convenient than trying to buy one in an Apple store.

Reactions: Newtons Apple
I stopped by my local Best Buy yesterday to compare models in real life, shopping for my husband's Christmas gift.

Everyone has posted gorgeous photos (thank you!) that really just make my decision harder.

Anyway, they had ONE model on display. Completely unhelpful in comparison shopping :/ I'll have to sneak off to an Apple store someday soon.

I've purchased most of my apple products from best buy. We don't have an Apple Store. Best buy service is not always the greatest. I haven't had any major problems. I've also purchased some of their open box items. I've never received anything where the box was marked up. I like their rewards program.

I am not crazy about the Apple Store, I find it hard to get help when I go, and it's always packed. I ordered my 6plus , and went to pick it up as soon as the store opened, and they had us stand in a line, only letting a few in at a time. This wasn't even launch day.

Best buy needs to work on customer service and knowledgeable sales people. They will match prices, but you definitely have to do your research.

I buy most of my tech stuff at Best Buy, including my Macbook Air, because of their rewards program and because I've had a card there for years so I can make purchases with 0% interest for a year or so (depending on the amount I've spent). Plus, as an Elite member I have a 30-day return period instead of 14 days. I don't have a problem with their customer service. I just make sure to go in knowing what I want and then asking for it.

I always buy my stuff direct with Apple, but for a last minute birthday gift for this weekend, I was going to pick up a SS at Best Buy.

Has anyone else bought a SS at Best Buy? I was wondering how the packaging comes? Do they give you the white, square box with the plastic wrapper thing still on it (it's not shrink wrap, it's a thicker plastic that peals neatly away). Also, are they sticking their stickers and/or writing with sharpie on these boxes like they do iPhones and iPads?

Thanks for your help.

I just bought mine today from BB. Came in original, factory sealed apple packaging.

Best Buy is fine. Just bought an apple watch there and it is absolutely the same thing as the Apple Store. I have bought most of my apple products there and no problems.
