My music collection would be too big to fit an 80 gb one right now, but I'm waiting until the next update to go from my 20 gb G4 and 4 gb nano (yes, it will be one hell of a jump).

4th Gen B&W 20gb - no
2nd Gen Shuffle - yes
1st Gen Nano 2gb - yes - all music & iPod Linux
1st Gen iPod 5gb - yes
5th Gen 30gb Video - yes - about 8gb music, 19gb video, and some games

You actually have more than 20,000 songs? Or do you have some video too? If all music, thats impressive.

I've only got ~7000 songs, but it's like 34 gigs worth of music. I don't get it at all, but yes, I've filled every iPod I've ever owned. comlpetely and utterly stuffed it full of music.

My whole collection has been bigger than my iPod's hard drive since scant months after I bought it. I got the 20GB iPod when my collection was about 14GB.

My collection, as it stands, is too big to fit on an 80GB iPod in its entirety. I'm hoping a 100GB arrives next gen, though by then I'm sure I'll be pushing towards that limit too. :D

That is why the the Archos 504 comes with the option of 160gig just in case you have alot of movies.

I could fill my 1GB Shuffle, but I keep it at a limit of around 100 songs that I'm liking the most at the moment. I think it's at 107 right now.

And my 30GB Photo? No way. :p

I have never filled my iPod 3G 15GB with music, many times with other stuff (I sometimes install Mac OS X on it-viva FireWire!). My shuffle is not full at the moment, but it was.

Don't tease me by owning the best iPod gen ever :(
Speaking of which... why did they drop Firewire from iPods? At the time of the shift I had my 3G and didn't plan on upgrading for a long time so I sort of ignored all the shouting.

i dont see the point in getting an iPod you can hardly fill. Why have a 30GB iPod for 2GB of music? buy a nano and be happy that youve got something smaller. I know most peoples collections are always expanding, but so are iPod capacities!!

Space.

Firewire needs a separate chipset which bulked it up.

I filled my 3G 10gb a few years ago and I had to use the check marks to decide what tracks I wanted on it but that got annoying so I got a Photo.

I have filled my 3G 15GB iPod with check marks...and am waiting for the next gen iPod to buy...

I have just under 40GBs now, and don't want video there...I would like a hundred MBs or so for iPod Linux, but would like a larger capacity as I know my collection will grow :)

I've filled my 512MB Shuffle, 15GB 3rd Gen, and my 40 GB 4th Gen. But they are all from the same iTunes, the songs are not exclusive to the iPod.

my 3G (20GB), yes, with music
my 5G (60GB), yes, with music and video
if I ever wanted to, I could fill the 5G with video alone more than two times over.

Shuffle's are not a problem, filled my 1st Generation and now my new 2nd Generation Orange.

I only have 5GB worth of Music. Filling up my new 30GB Movie with Movies, TV and Videos isn't a problem.

Yes. I have a 30GB iPod, 20GB prior to this one, 20GB prior to that. I typically fill them up but not with music. Usually I have about 5 or 6GBs of music on my iPod, the rest is either photos or files, mainly files, that I am transporting to the studio. 30GB seems plenty for now, I don't keep my whole history on there just the last few projects and my portfolio, which is saved as movies so I can play them.

My wife works in a similar fashion except that her iPod is more like her main drive, center of work, she doesn't store stuff on the computer.. only backups and working files but always copies back to the iPod.. so she has also filled hers once or twice, all depends on the current projects.

Of course my 1Gb nano was always full, but since i swithced to 30 gig video, i'm having about 5Gb free. It won't be too long til it's full.

i have a 60GB 5G iPod.... filled to the brim. it's a shame really. plus i had to make room for music by deleting videos.

i have to resort to playlist syncing which sucks IMO compared to straight sync. oh well tho.

My 5th gen 30GB is full. I need an 80gb but I would probably fill that up as well.

Although that won't happen 'because my 30gb is too new' according to the parents.

yes

i have the 30 video and most of it is filled with podcasts that ive been meaning to listen to... :(
