Have you ever thought about why apple released iPhone with signal problems?

Obviously you haven't done any research on HT gear.
TV's, blurays, higher end dvd players and receivers all have their issues. Many of the problems can be fixed or reduced through firmware upgrades.

technology is advancing too fast for comapnies to sit back and release the flawless device. If they did they would surely fall to the competition

Steve jobs says that prototypes have to be tested in real world environments and that's exactly what an engineer was doing but got drunk at a bar and forgot that specific prototype. The reason he was testing it was to point out flaws like the signal flaw that specific type had.

But when gizmodo found that prototype, they did what anyone would do and post pictures of it on the Internet. and now that everyone has seen that awesome looking thinner different design. That's what they were expecting to be the next iPhone. So apple had to make it the new iPhone even though it had a flaw.

Foxtron is a company that builds iPhones for apple and they had to invest in thousands of machines that are designed to build prototypes which costs $20,000 for each machine. And foxtron was able to supply over 100,000 iphone 4s a day.

When apple released the new iPhone 4 they kept mentioning the case you can put it in (which fixes the signal problem) cause they knew they were screwed And were hoping everyone would get one.

If none of this would of happened we would of probably had a whole different iPhone that would be slightly thicker, and have all of the same atures except for the signal problem and people would just find something else to complain about it like the camera not having as many megapixels as other phones out there.

Well these are just my thoughts about the whole situation, would like to know what you people think.

I think I will blame it on apple because the guy who found it was trying to call apple up and tell them they found an iPhone and was trying to give it back. And they took it as a prank call. So he sold it for $5000 to gizmodo because apple wouldn't take it back.. Hahahahahahaha

Huh... Well why do I constantly hear bitching about how the iPhone 4 has antenna problems? A lot of people are saying the iphone 4 sucks because of that even though it seams like they don't have one. I wish I had one lol.

(1) People do stupid stuff, especially if they've been drinking.
(2) The prototype was in a case which made it look like a 3GS.

The whole point of the prototype is for them to test it in all sorts of situations. What's the point of taking a prototype to a bar and not using it? Was he just gonna test how long the battery lasted in a crowd?
I think this whole antenna thing is overblown. Most people probably wouldn't ever notice if there hadn't been such a thing made about it, though would probably still be affected by it to some degree. Millions of cases were given away to alleviate the problem as well.

My iPhone 4 is the best iPhone I have had

I have owned every generation of iPhone since they first came out, and my iPhone 4 has far better reception and call quality than any of the previous iPhones. It also has far fewer dropped calls than my 3GS in the same area.

I guess it's just me, but I could care less if reception suffers without a case, as I have no desire to carry around an expensive phone like this without one.

The main thing that this whole controversy has done is to reduce the number of iPhones that will be damaged from their owners dropping them without having them in a case.

nah apple knew bout it and thought they would go through with the design, everyone would lap it up. they did apple wins again. love the phone but hate the bs. next iphone will be with the liquid metal, thinner and more flexable design to implement the antenna INSIDE the metal bezel without it being the bezel.

I love my phone and if you just can't get past the antenna issue then maybe it's time for you to look into getting another phone. It's just people on the Internet constantly complaining about it remind me of the problem. Even though there is a problem I would LOVE to get the iPhone 4 but since I'm just a kid, iPod touch and cheap motorola krazor it is for me :/

If they are waiting for a iPhone with new hardware then they will be waiting until next year when the new iPhone comes out. The only signal problem with the current iPhone is if you touch the antenna (which is only a tiny black strip at the bottom of the phone) your signal bars will drop on some phones depending on the signal strength. Simple solution : Don't touch the antenna! OP I can't believe you started another thread about this crap and you don't even own a iPhone!

Absolutely!! Couldn't agree more... There are no signal problems with mine either. I don't understand why people are still complaining about signal problems, when they have the option to use another phone that will work out better for them.....

One thing you'll learn very quickly is that a lot of times, it's a very small but very vocal group of people on the internet that make the complaints, combined with a follow-on of people who either can't afford getting an iPhone, or for other reasons they bought The Other Product and want to echo those complaints to make themselves feel better about their situation. They also like to assume that just because they have a problem or are echoing the problem, then everyone else with an iPhone 4 must have this same problem too. And anyone who says they don't must be lying.

People like this won't be swayed. It doesn't matter if sales figures, long lines at the store, and low return rates all point to the fact that actually, the people who are affected by the issue are a minority, and a pretty small minority, too.

Why aren't they swayed? because they have a keyboard and a screen in front of them. And it has a Caps Lock key. And pressing that Caps Lock key from time to time gives them attention.
