Sounds like Apple will shut out this line of business soon. Rumors posted on the MacRumors home page about additional finishes being announced this week.
The rumors are pointing to another anodized Sport color - nothing more. Plating will still be around for SS versions, even (especially) if Apple introduces new metals in the future (platinum, rhodium, etc.).

Not really. Anodized gold-colored finish (such as what's seen on Gold iPhone) looks nothing like real shiny gold found on the Edition, which gold plating resembles. The OP and others needed to go with a better company than WatchPlate.

There is no way they will release a gold plated Apple Watch. Gold-colored anodized aluminum maybe, but not gold plated to look exactly like an Edition. Apple does not want there to be a cheaper way to have a watch that looks identical to the $10,000+ Apple Watch Edition.
