Oh now I know what you mean, the screen has to "catch-up" with the gun. More of a problem the faster you go. I remember that from the first two, but in TS: FP, wasn't the cross-hair in the middle of the screen so it moved with you (ie. 'normal')?
Anyway, the point I'm making is that the article thought it was bad to have strafe/walk on left stick and look/aim on right, which is now the norm. Though timesplitters had 100% customisable controls, so you could make walk/turn on left, then aim on left when you hold L2 so that it's like Goldeneye 64. 🙂
