Nothing good has ever come from a complete rewrite, though.
We developers think it’s the easiest way to fix all bugs, but unless the underlying structural problems (like bad QA, wrong priorities) are fixed, it typically ends up worse.
Fingers crossed, though.
Entirely not true. This was likely a case of the developers trying to take shortcuts by having a single codebase work across muitple platforms, instead of targeting each platform individually. My bank tried to pass off a web-based "mobile app" and it was a horrible experienee. They completely rewrote it, and while it still seems to be web-based (I believe), it feels vastly more native than the first attempt and I haven't had any complaints in years since they did that.
