I have both HD DVD (Toshiba HD-XA2) and Blu-ray Disc (Sony PS3/60GB).

HD DVD: 43
BD: 7

Picture AND Titles aren't there for Blu-ray. HD DVD gets my vote.

From yesterday's paper:

"2.5 million people are expected to buy a new TV for Super Bowl Sunday".

Most if not all of those sets are expected to be high def screens. Hardly what I'd call artificial demand. Cost? Who cares how much it costs? Consumers will drink muddy water before they give up the promise of the HD lifestyle.

I've read in a few places that the LG player isn't supported by de HD-DVD consortium. So it can't carry the official logo. I think it's because I doesn't support some kind of audio format which is compulsory to be able to carry the HD-DVD logo.
Still, its a great start, any pretty good value considering you get a 2 in 1 player for the price of most stand alone HD-DVD and Blu-Ray players!

You heard right. As a matter of fact, most times it is referred to as a blu ray player that happens to play HD-DVD. From what I gather, it has very rudimentary support to plays hd-dvd's. So, if you happen to pop in an HD-DVD, don't expect much in the ways of features- almost like playing a standard dvd.
