Newegg didn't charge me a restocking fee.

I contacted Newegg and they are waiving the restocking fee and provided pre-paid postage to return. That's service. On a side note, the Kingston HyperX is much better than the G. Skill. It's much speedier. Of course it's about $40 more, but worth it in my opinion. :)

Alright, I installed the memory and it seems to run fine so far.

The boot time is:
4gb Stock RAM 35-38 sec
8gb G.Skill RAM ~32-35 sec

Geekbench scores for the 4gb stock RAM are:
(32bit) - 5301/4602
(64bit) - 5085/5481

Geekbench scores for the 8gb G.Skill RAM are:
(32bit) - 5471/4941
(64bit) - 5285/5822

Will update this if I encounter any problems with the RAM.

I just installed mine today and haven't had any issues so far. Also booting up and opening apps are overall a couple seconds quicker.

I decided to use the replacement G. Skill instead of the Kingston HyperX memory. You can see a very small difference in speed with HyperX, but not worth it for the price. So far the G. Kill is running well. Very hard to tell the difference between to the two sets on the i5 MBP. I was lucky enough to get the G. Skill memory for $60 out the door. About $50 cheaper than the Kingston HyperX

did the beachballing issues go away?

These were my 32-bit results (sorry, no 64-bit).

I'm also looking to upgrade my ram to 8gb, but i don't know what kind to get. It currently says 1067MHz DDR3 which is the factory.

Then that's what you should probably stick with. Anything with that speed should be fine. Check at newegg or amazon for any sales.
