Should have the ability to disable it honestlyWhy isn't it smart enough to know that 2 AM is probably not a good time for this test.
That option is always grayed out on all my devices. Oddly, though thankfully, even though the toggle is locked in the 'enabled' position, the feature seems to be disabled. Some sounds can be disabled by connecting the AirPods to an Apple device, going to Settings, tapping on the AirPods icon, and turning off Enable Charging Case Sounds.
For me, they’d regularly chime in 15 minute increments after I placed them on the charger. It woke me up enough times to make me rethink charging them overnight. For the half a second of a few quiet tones?
Didn’t knew it was a mystery. I like it as I know it’s charging, that was a pain with my beats buds and AirPods Pro original. I had few occasions when I thought it was charging but didn’t, especially in rental cars.
This ^^I've been quite curious about this actually. I learned quickly not to leave them on my nightstand charger at night.
Thanks grandad 😉I'd describe it as a more electronic sound similar to a noise a tamagotchi or some other small electronic toy would make.
