What's 350lb in real weights? (asks Google)

25 stone. My God. (160 kg for the rationals here)

I have to ask, how do they turn a profit? I know if I was 25+ stone, I'd be in there like a shot, eating probably 3x week. America isn't exactly short of plus-sized people.

This is our empire's legacy to world history. Not only were we the biggest, we were the biggest.

Biggest, yes, but not the largest.

British empire covered about 3.5x the land area. The first global hyperpower. Even the Mongols conquered 3x more than the USA did, and they did it on horseback too.

Am suspicious of the figure for USA there, it should include places like Iraq as basically conquered territories. If it included the countries USA has conquered / controlled militarily (greatest extent probably 1945/6, including places like Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Spain etc) OR client states of the USA (greatest extent, 1960s / 70s, including Iran, various CIA-controlled south american countries etc) then the USA figure would probably double in size. But still not as much as the Mongols or the British.

He he...I didn't mean territory in land, but in inches around the waist. ;)

Britain's navy or Ghengis Khan's army would take days to circumnavigate just one of our average American women! (more time for a man)

very few people are that over weight. To break 300 takes some pushing and at that point it gets hard to walk.

I hate extremely fat people. Unless they have a genuine medical condition, it is their fault that they are fat. They are disgusting.
If this is the kind of thing that triggers you to hate then your [life] plate is either entirely too empty or entirely too full. Personally the waistlines of others doesn't affect me all that much, certainly not enough to inspire hatred and rude sweeping judgements and commentary.
I am sure most people who have hit the obese mark are fully aware of how they got there and have plenty of self-disgust to go around without things like that being said.

For you nurse-loving folks out there, notice in the picture above that the counter has mirrors underneath, so you can observe both sides of your waitress as she's serving you. ;) They also swing their legs over the counter when they need to take orders at the outer tables.

It's definitely for real. :D

It seems to me like the perfect place to eat, my first time there i would try the quad burger, but after that i would probable limit myself to a double (I weigh 165 pounds btw)

Stone? What are we, in some sort of Ultima game? ;)

Well, it was written by a certain Lord British.

This article has inspired me to blow out and get a Burger King Spicy BeanBurger on my way home from a talk I went to today. Mmm. The best veggie burger on the high street. Haven't had one for years.

Tasted OK. Not as good as I remember. What with eating sandwiches, soup and cake from Pret a Manger today for lunch, and another hot cheese and falafel roll from the same place yesterday, I'm sure I made some progress towards the magic 350lb today.

Wow, I donlt know whether to find this burger place hilarious or totally disturbing...

It was precisely because the British were such empire builders that Americans held anti-imperialist views for generations. Then we slipped up and joined the fracas....

I don't understand how they haven't been sued yet lol. If someone can sue Mcdonald's for making them fat, I am pretty sure someone can sue these guys for their claim to fame being they will kill you! (disclaimer, imo if you eat there and die, your fault - you were warned!)

I also don't understand how a thread about greasy burgers and fries got political

Lastly, there is a minor league baseball team here in MO that (I'm sure to draw publicity) offers a "grizzly" burger which is a burger with cheese and bacon, and krispy kreme doughnuts as the buns. Seriously! I would never eat one of these things (sounds gross if not dangerous lol) but they say they taste good...

I think with McDonalds, they aren't so forthcoming with the bad effects of their food.

It's like cigarettes. As long as the package tells you they're killing you, it's all good...

What MacRumors thread doesn't devolve into politics??

I've heard of that before. I'd actually really like to try one sometime. One. Once. And probably never again.
