i left my macbook running while i was installing windows had an error and had to leave in a hurry didn't know it was not in sleep and it was left on in a incase for around 20 minutes, will the safe shutoff kick even if its not booted up. it should be fine right? it felt very hot to the touch but was only around 77c on boot up.

Probably won't be affected, but you should run xBench or diagnostics just to be sure.

xBench tests are useful if you have a previous score to compare it to. If both scores are almost equal, then your components are fine. However, if there is drastic difference, then yes something is wrong now.

Sorry forgot to mention this earlier.

That's probably the most nonsensical thing I have read on this board in a long time.

HDDs are always slow, unless you notice a unusually slow connection you should call Apple.
