I don't think I need all that power, yeah the entry level with 16 ram, but I can't get at the apple store, I need to buy it online and is a pain in the ass for the tax refund! I would love to have the 15 but is really expensive, and I don't need so much power, for the apple care no problem, I can get it in Italy when I will be back, I was going to buy the 13 retina today, but the apple store guy that I was talking to, was a massive idiot, I got pissed off and got out of the store ahahaha I'm still on the 13" it fit me for mobility, mail, web, watch movies, office, I don't do graphics or video editing, what you reckon ? Entry or medium level? Thanks for your

Well, you stated that you don't need all that power, so I would say Entry level. BUT, the higher level would get you 256 gigs instead of 128. And with only 128 gigs you would soon regret not spending $200 more for twice the storage. I think you need the bigger SSD. We all do. Go for it. Also, the 13" can only take 8 gigs of ram, and it already gives that. But I must say this...You are already spending a lot of money, and the 15" costs even more, but in a year or two you won't remember the money or feel the loss of it. Money kinda comes and goes. But your computer stays. If you think that you might think in a year "Gosh, I wish I had that 15"Then you should get it. You only live once, if you are going to spend, might as well spend a little more and get what you REALLY want. I know I am. And I don't really NEED that much power, not nearly, but I want that screen. Think about the movies will will watch on it. Looks great on that 15"

the thing that scary me is that the 13 i will spend 1749 australian dollar (i5 2,6ghz 256 ssd) with the 15 would be 2,519.00 australian dollar (entry lever plus 16 gb ram that i can get just online maybe, but is a problem with the tax refund) there is a big gap between the two machines, i know that i would love the 15, for sure no regret! but there is 750 dollar step...im not sure :(

If you can swing it you will thank yourself later on down the line. But you must know that with the ram, you have to order it with the machine. Once you get the machine you can not add ram. But for your purposes, if it's a deal breaker, you would be fine with 8 gigs of ram.

ok, so from the 13" 256 ssd to the entry level 15" there is a 530 aud$ gap, considering that I lose a bit of portability, quad core processor and dedicated gpu worth 530 $ swing? i think so! is that what you mean? apart from the dimension, the 15 is better then the 13 in every specs and features? big thank for helping me and using your time

Yes. You pretty much got it. And the portability? Not much of a difference. The reason some people find working with the 13" better is not really so much the portability, it's more the foot stamp. It takes up a little less room on your desk. To me that couple of extra inches on my desk is a non issue

on my desk is not a problem, the problem is when I'm out, airplanes, train, cafè ecc...Im so confused ahahahah!!! i would love to have the 15 but still not totally over it!

I'm spending some times reading about the new haswell, the battery life is increasing? and the gpu is gettin better? a better wifi lan??? if this things are true, i might wait, i care about this aspects of my laptop, ive been holding on for nearly 5 years (since my last laptop september 2008) i can wait couple of months more i think...but wasting the possible discount that the exchange rate between dollar and euro upset me a bit, anyway money kind of come and go, as someone said, so in both ways (wait or buy) make sense?!

All right buddy. That's it. Now that this has crept into your mind...YOU MUST WAIT!!! It's my feeling also that you should resist buying any first generation Apple product. There is bound to be improvements that we are not even thinking about. Plus I'm hoping that the Basev15" will have a 512 SSD. Nothing wrong with having the most currant processor. If you plan on keeping it for 5 years, each year they come out with new OS X software, eventually the older chips won't support the new system software. Might as well insure your future. And I'm going to hit you over your head if you don't get that 15"

Based on what you are saying, suggest you get the 13 inch rMBP with the biggest drive (SSD) you can afford; 128GB won't last long these days unless you are committed to also carrying an external USB3.0 drive; suggest you buy it with at least 512GB.

It will be out by August. I was just reading the same report. Apparently Haswell is bigger than everybody has been saying. From what I gathered there will be 3 kinds of GPU. And remember, I'm just a layman, not a expert. There is a 5000, 5100 and 5200. The MBA will get the 5000 and the 15" will get the 5200 with reportable a 100% GPU increase. WOW. I can't wait. I'm on a 2009 15" that's giving me trouble. This will be huge for me. I've been ready to buy but against all advice I chose to wait. Not so much for Haswell but I just wanted to wait for the 2nd generation retina. There's going to be this new Wifi technology, 802.11 AC that is supposed to be a new world and at worst expand the range greatly and who knows what else. In my wildest fantasy the will eliminate the bezel on the display and make it a true full screen. But that is doubtful. As it is they are wasting a half inch on all four sides

Hey, go to Apple and play with both computers. For me, that 13" feels like a toy. Pick them both up. The 15" is anything but too big. The 17"...Now THAT was too big

Man I'm defenetly gonna wait the wwdc, i have a friend here that is leaving a month after me, so he can pick me one if they release something, but im gonna wait, i prefer to spend big money for a machine that will last me 5 years! im really interested in the mba 13 too, i've seen it in my hand and is so light and portable, but the lack of a good gpu and the screen are porblems

It wouldn't take me more than a couple of weeks to break that MBA. I work on film sets and travel around the world for work, that thing wouldn't last long
