Maybe you should consider going stock as you are not picking up on the basic stuff...

Where in the first link does it say you need ifile??

----------

Ok forget it, restore to stock, you lack the basic skills to do this.

It says that in another link in the Google search you linked. The instructions in the first link tell me to click on my device in the top right corner and click "cydia app installer" which does not appear in the drop down menu when I click my device. Where is this "cydia app installer?"

No, I don't lack the "basic skills" to do this. Just because it's easy for you does not mean it's easy to the everyday user. I'm almost there I just need to know how to install Cydia in ifunbox?

How to install deb file using iFunbox
#1
05-24-2013, 05:45 AM
1. Run the iFunbox and Connect your iDevice.

2. Open the Raw File System of your iDevice in iFunbox.

3. Navigate to /var/root/Media/ and Create a new folder and rename it to Cydia.

4. Inside the Cydia folder that you created, Make a new folder again and rename it to AutoInstall.

5. Copy the .deb file to AutoInstall folder.

6. Reboot your iDevice Twice to install the .deb file.

I did this and rebooted my device twice and Cydia is still not on my phone. What am I doing wrong? I followed those instructions verbatim.

Then check the exact naming including capital letters

Alternatively use the ifunbox install feature

The exact naming of the deb file or the folders?

Also, does my device have to be connected when I reboot? And is rebooting simply holding down sleep and home button?

folders

BTW the install feature in ifunbox hits you in the face, middle of the top buttons : "install app"

Ok, yeah I saw it shortly after I wrote that and edited my post. I also renamed the Autoinstall folder AutoInstall, the i wasn't capitalized.

You have a problem following instructions….

The above i alreay told you in 1 of my earlier postings.
Not reading does not help in the process

Yes you can hold home and power, actualy that is a hard reset.
Reboot is just sliding of and restarting

My apologies, I got a little flustered and overwhelmed and forgot.

Everything is properly titled/capitalized now, and after a reboot it is still not appearing. Does it have to be connected during the reboot?

No does not have tobe connected.

Try the ifunbox install feature

Just tried the ifunbox install feature, it says it failed.
Result of the last app installation: 0 succeeded, 1 failed.

Should I try 1.1.4?

i am very sorry but i'm not taking this any further, you really lack the basics to do a complicated restore.

best advice is to restore to stock 6.1.3 and stay stock.

good luck

What is your problem? Not everyone knows how to do this stuff, you're being very short and vague. I need to know how to do this, I am absolutely not restoring to stock.

I am looking all over RedSnow and don't see anything that says "extras".

Shouldn't I be using GreeP0ison for ios 5.01?

When you start redsn0w, there are 2 options: jailbreak and extras

What trijethero was trying to get to was a rerestore but as stated, it's going to be very hard to guide you through the steps if you have trouble with the simple stuff (I understand that this may be hard for you but these are very simple, there are much more complicated stuff out there and if you have trouble with the simple stuff, the hard stuff will be even harder)

You can always try rejailbreaking with greenpoison v0.4 and see if that brings back your cydia app as installing with the .deb file doesn't work

Are you certain you're downloading the correct .deb file?

Yes I am downloading that file.

Won't restoring and or rejailbraking update me to iOS 6?
