I can't get my Mac mini to accept discs. I'm almost positive there is not one already in it. I tried to search for a solution and none of them worked. (Shutting down and holding the mouse button, etc.) I read that the SuperDrive can fail because of a fan issue. Is that true? I haven't heard my fan (it was always loud enough that I c

Had that happen to me on my 2010 MBP, for me it meant the Optical drive had failed. Lucky I had AppleCare and they replace it free. And yes SuperDrives commonly fail over time. My 2009 27" did the same thing but not worth the repair as I don't use it.

Take it in to Apple, they'll tell you exactly what's wrong.

Sorry, this accidentally sent before I finished. There's another post. Will they charge me just to look at it? I don't have apple care.
