I think 9.7 is definitely th best size, 12.9" is just ridiculous
9.7 is a terrific size. 12.9 has its advantages. If I were going to continue to use my iPads strictly as tablets, I'd stick with 9.7. With the hope/expectation of doing more, I'm finding the 12.9 helpful... even if it is large enough to block out the sun of a small city. :)

12.9" screen + keyboard, might as well carry around my MacBook with that large of a footprint

I may look ridiculous. But I am loving using a 13 inch tablet on an elliptical this last week. Now that I no longer have a full body case on it it's less of a pain to carry too. I'm still really torn especially since it's iPad day! If it wasn't for the better and brighter screen of the Pro 9.7 I think I would be sticking with the 12.9.

I don't really care for the keyboard. But using a 13 inch tablet on an elliptical is like watching a big screen tv in comparison to the 9.7. I know the logical choice for me is the 9.7 but the luxury of having this giant screen... And at nearly the same price as the 32gb 9.7, so hard to give up.

iPad Pro 12.9" on the treadmill? LOL, that would actually be hilarious to see

the 128gb will sell for more later so to me its a no brainer
sell "more" but at a higher percentage loss. You won't get back that extra $150 you spent. More like $60-75 at best. Currently I am only seeing a $52 margin between a 16gb Air 2 and a 64gb... But you paid $100 more off the bat.

Entry level models are the ones with lowest margin loss from my experience.

Been doing it all week. Who cares. I'm watching a big screen tv so everyone else looking at me can suck it.

Yes, that is the conventional wisdom. I don't see any fault in that... I've done that for many years.

But it is time for me to try out a platform that has the best chance-to-date of replacing my paper notebook and computer notebook.

True but my point wasn't that you'll recover all your losses anyway, just a portion of them later.

Lets say you buy the 128gb for $150 more, and later you sell it for $70 more than 32GB, then the upgrade cost $80. Then you have to ask yourself if the $80 for 4x more space was worth it. Personally for me it was because I noticed I'm using 22gb of storage on my phone, and I'll need even more on my ipad for movies and games. Since Apple are nasty and don't give us USB, external storage solutions are cumbersome, expensive and low volume.

I've actually used more on my phone traditionally for my uses. Only have 20gb free on my 64gb IPhone but something like 36gb free currently on my 64gb iPad Air 2. My 32gb Pro has 7gb free but I've deleted a lot of games I don't play anymore.

Plenty good for me - looking forward to my new 9.7" iPP on Thursday.

I know I'm coming late to this but for other people that read this to help make their decision yes you get a better camera a better screen but 12.9 you get faster CPU more ram more screen real estate Who really plans to take photos or videos on an iPad if you are you own a 6S or 6S plus Just AirDrop video or pictures to your 12.9
I think the pros of the 12.9 outweigh the pros of the 9.7 but that's my personal opinion

I actually prefer the 9.7 to the 12.9, but as you said, both have their pros and cons. It good to have choices because we all have our preferences for which pros and cons are most important for our own use and needs.

As for taking photos with an iPad...

I have a 15 inch MacBook Pro 2015 model I use for hard-core game since May 2015 I also had a iPad Air 2 from September 9th till early December 2015 which I did everything else on since December 2 till now I've been using my 12.9 inch iPad Pro for absolutely everything other than hard-core gaming and I love it and I would never go to a smaller model the smart keyboard is perfectly spaced out on the 12.9 and the 9.7 is too claustrophobic for my fingers
