Yeah doing it all at Apple Store so if I am right in thinking I can switch all in store ?
So say to them i am upgrading and using my iPhone XR to trade in and then hopefully they will take the old iPhone there and then?
You’re correct about that. Also make sure to do an iCloud backup before you go to the Apple Store when they do the trade in they take the old iPhone away from you once everything has been reset and find my got turned off.

❤️‍🔥

Get it done 👍 at least a day or two before you head to the Apple Store.

Also make sure to clean the iPhone XR they’ll check the condition of the iPhone before they mark the 16 pro price down with the trade in value

When do you intend to visit the Apple Store to trade in your iPhone XR?

Do you use a physical SIM or eSIM on your iPhone XR? The iPhone 16 Pro in the US requires an eSIM, if you are in a different country you can still get one with a SIM card slot.

By the way, I used the quick transfer feature from a physical SIM to an eSIM, and it was incredibly easy! However, depending on your carrier, some budget carriers like Straight Talk may not support this feature. If you’re on a major carrier, it should be supported.

First of all I agree with your decision, I think it’s a good choice.

Second of all do let us know what you think!

I upgraded last month from my iPhone Xʀ running iOS 12 to the 16 Plus, and I really love the upgrade. The camera is infinitely better, and battery life is massively improved (even though it still runs iOS 12 and gets 16 hours of SOT, in fact, I’m typing this with it), but the 16 Plus is that much better.

The screen is also better, but if you take pictures with your iPhone, I think you’ll really notice the camera difference!

Having 5G is also great, and Wi-Fi speeds have been massively improved, the 16 Plus is much faster. The 16 Pro will be, too!

Like I said, let us know your thoughts after you’ve tried it!

Wait. Or look; you can wait and then buy the 17 which us better than the 16, or you can wait and then buy the 16, which will have a price drop, so you will spend less.

Good bruv 👊 what carrier are you on?

Check here to see if your carrier supports eSIM quick transfer on a new iPhone. Link below 👇
If your carrier isn’t listed here, you might want to check their website. Some carriers require you to use their website or ring them to set up eSIM if quick transfer isn’t supported.

I’ve heard of an iPhone 13 user on this forum who encountered similar issues with his Straight Talk physical SIM. He had to call the carrier to transfer it into eSIM on his new iPhone 16e.

Thank you for this topic
Can we see the trade-in value on the Apple website?
yeah if you go to the iPhone you want and go through the steps of configuring storage and colour etc it will give you option to see if you want to trade in then put in iPhone model and serial number and it will give you a estimate there .

Also a bit unrelated to the question but do you wear an Apple Watch?

If you upgrade your iPhone you will be prompted to change the Apple Watch connection to the new iPhone after direct transfer.
Used to wear one but not anymore,
that will probably be my next purchase

Used to have a series 3 used it until last year when it stopped working .
Not missed it much but would like to get the Apple Watch Ultra at some point.
If the Apple Watch Series 3 you had was a 42mm and you still have the straps you can reuse it with the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

What colour would you prefer for the ultra? Natural or black titanium?

Probably black titanium for Apple Watch ultra ,
And yes was 42mm worked brilliantly until one day it just stopped working

Got it. Still have the straps right?

With a black tatty ultra I suggest a black iPhone 16 Pro
Yeah the phone colour doesn’t matter because I will be putting a case in it .
The iPhone XR i have is in blue but I never see it as I have a black otter box defender case on

Hey, I was wondering if you’re still thinking about getting an OtterBox for your new 16 Pro?

The downside of camera control is that case manufacturers have to follow Apple’s rules to make a cover for the camera control touch-sensitive button. So, many cases have a hole in them, which can be a problem on bulky cases like OtterBox. It can also be easy to accidentally launch the camera or even capture something without even realising your fingers are on it.

Belkin screen protectors, right? They install these in the Apple Store if you buy them in person.

The cases offered will be Otterbox, Beats, or Apple. Which one would you prefer?

Also, if you want to transfer data from your Apple Watch Series 3 to the Apple Watch Ultra 2, pair the Series 3 with your new iPhone if you still have it.

I got a wonderful case for my iPhone 16 Pro at UAG. It is durable (I’ve dropped my phone plenty already) and has easy access to the camera control button while not launching and accidentally taking photos (I think it has only happened once or twice). I would highly recommend many UAG cases if you are concerned about the safety of you $1k+ phone, here is a link for mine (I got the titanium colored one and I think it looks great with my black titanium phone)
