I couldn't decide between them and ordered 32gb 6s+. Then I started feeling for 7+. It is just another $130. I tried cancelling my order but it went to fulfillment status. I am going to travel from next week. I might not be able to get it by Friday if I cancel the order. It takes another 1-2 business days for cancel to take affect then only system allows me to reorder. It might not be a big deal in terms of my usage requirements. If they delay order, may be I can try cancellation process. Thanks for all the feedback.
[doublepost=1492051957][/doublepost]Does iphone 7+ come with earpods compatible with lightning port or just a adapter to 3.5mm jack?

It still comes with the headphones. Then it's got that tiny adapter from lightening to 3.5mm.

7+ comes with headphones directly plugs into lighting port right? Then adapter for people with older head phone instead of using one from factory? I guess, I wasted lot of time thinking between 6s+ vs 7+ instead of jumping onto 7+ quickly.

The iPhone 7 Plus comes with EarPods that have a lightning connector, not a 3.5 mm Jack. Apple provides you an adapter in the box for your wired headphones for a lightning connection to the iPhone 7/7 Plus.

I had 6S Plus for a year, and now 7 Plus for a month. In all honesty, there is so little difference between the two. Battery life seems to be the same, speed about the same, screen about the same, etc... Annoyance factor with lack of phone jack is still there as it rears its' ugly head once in a while, and the home button is nothing to write home about.

The stereo speakers mean it can get a bit louder so that's nice, and the dual camera can be handy.

All in all, if you can save money on 6S Plus, definitely go for that, then hopefully 8 Plus/Pro/Etc will be a worthy upgrade.

Thanks for the information. I have dedicated camera for occasions. I didn't put much value in dual camera. Different is very little in terms of day to day use.

Actually the iPhone 7+ comes with a standard set of ear pods and an adapter which adapts the standard 3.5mm jack to the lightning connector. To repeat... the ear pods in the box have a standard 3.5mm jack and the box includes an adapter so they will plug into the lightning connector on the iPhone 7+.

This is absolutely wrong. The iPhone 7 and 7 plus come with both a 3.5mm to lightning adapter, and EarPods with a lightning connecter (no 3.5mm connector).

My bad, you are correct. I have 3 boxes of which two are for the 6+ and 6s+ and one for the 7+. Ear pods have been swapped around and the adapter along with it. Everything back where it belongs now. Sorry for the wrong info, please ignore my previous post. :(

No problem. I already placed order for 6s+ and it is going to here tomorrow. i am trying to place a replacement order for 7+. So far not able to do it. Only way is to cancel and return 6s+ then start it new order from scratch. But I am traveling next week. I have wait for another week to do a porting. I messed up the initial order.

Just received 6s+ package. They got it to me with one day shipping to help me with my travel plan. If I want to switch to 7+, I have to return with RMI and wait for att to receive it. Then company vendor will let me place order for 7+. I might need to wait 1-2 weeks for all this to complete. Not sure if it is worth to go through all this. 6s+ is just sitting there. I might as well just open and start experiencing ios. Is there any build quality differences between 6s+ vs 7+ in terms of reliability. Thanks

If you're referring to build quality as in physical standards between the two of them, the 6S Plus and 7 Plus are literally identical with the exception of the 3.5 Jack being removed. They both use the 7000 Series aluminum, which is fairly scratch resistant and durable.

Although the 7 does have a more official IP67 dust/water resistance rating, a somewhat different antenna design, a second stereo speaker, and a different home button (along with the haptic engine).

True. Even though the 6S was tested to be fairly water resistant with the amount of adhesive used in that model and lacking any specific water seal, it did not have any rating.

@C DM. I see you edited your previous post after the fact when I quoted you. I think when you consider the physical design, the chassis of the iPhone is the same. An antenna band and speaker grill are merely cosmetic, when you factor the actual overall design of the iPhone casing, it's identical, even with the Haptic home button functionality.

3.5 jack is going to be useful as I don't need to carry adapter/another set of headphones to use with laptop. That being said, family is little mad on me for getting 6s+. They think, I got 2 years old phone (spouse has 6s for more than a year) when every one is talking about next iphone 8.

if the 6s+ works for you, then keep it. If not, exchange.

I think the adapter is something we're going to have to get used to, I don't see Apple bringing the jack back. I'm pretty tolerant to these changes though, when it's time for for my MBP upgrade, the USB-C won't bother me at all - an adapter will cure it.

In terms of a newer device, its tempting to keep the 6s, but long-term, swapping for the 7 will be worth it.

The adapter is something definitely to get used to overtime, because Apple will not bring back the 3.5 mm Jack. And eventually you are correct, it appears it will be USB – C at one point or another across the board.

Always go with the newest and latest model, you won't be entirely satisfied unless you have the latest. By the time 7S and the 8 comes out, 6S looks/ sounds old, for a little more in price get the latest. Unless you got it as a gift then use it until its time to replace.

Activated 6s plus for the porting number to att. It is possible to return and get iPhone 7, but there is a restocking fee. It is waste of money at this point. In between I think I got samsung chip. Can we return for bad battery life without paying restocking fee. Anyone able to return for bad chip model.

I bought my iphone 6S Plus one month ago.. didnt regret it... I came from an SE .

You are over thinking this. The 6s Plus will more than satisfy "your" requirements at this time.

Mine still works great and I do a lot of web browsing and movie watching. Calls are crystal clear on ATT.

Sounds like you will use headphones most of time.

Save the 130.00 and get the new Airpods.

Good Luck :)

Thanks. Did you check which model do you have. There is lot chat on net about inferior Samsung chip compared to TSMC.
I came from G4. It is big difference in terms of battery life, smoothness and sound quality from speakers (it could be apple ear buds). My G4 with chrome browsing is down right bad some times (switched to ufast browser). I used to turn off location to save battery. Looks like there are no short cut keys to quickly toggle data and Location in ios. But I might never need to do it with 6s+ battery. I made changes to apps controlling permission with location services. I find that my 6s+ battery drains as well while using screen albeit slower rate than G4.
