Naming a computer = bizarre

Try to get out more folks.
It's not like you're calling a computer that name, it just needs a label for when you're using it in a network. Our network has three identical Mac minis, so labelling them all "G4 Mac mini" just won't cut it.

Try to think before you judge, man.

For the record: my 24" iMac is named Leviathan.
 
I named our shared drive at work King Henry. They all think I'm weird now. Or weirder, actually...

I guess "Johns iMac" or "Janes Macbook" just isnt good enough for some ppl then.

Please work your gray cells before using a tone like that. Seriously, open your terminal. If the first line says "johns-imac:Volumes/johns-harddrive~ john$", you should see why it's perfectly reasonable to name your computers and harddrives.
 
I call mine Barbara Streisand. It doesn't look like Barbara Streisand, though...
 
I always refer to my mac as, her or she.

"I hope she's Ok"
or
When my wife and I rearange furniture, I think. "now were should I put her''
