Just as a note for you, the "Free" iPod touch has to be purchased, and then you receive a rebate for it. So you will have to have the money to buy it at the time of purchase as well.

Thanks, I was already aware of this but it's helpful to those who werent

the best buy i went to gave me the student discount and did a instant rebate on the ipod touch soo if u dont care about the printer u might wanna check that out so u dont have to have the ipod money upfront

There is no way the 13 inch will last 5 years.

The processor inside of the 13 is 5 year old technology.

If you want a laptop that will last get the 15 inch models.

If a Pentium D lasted me the last 4, i believe a c2d will do me fine for at least 4

incorrect, i have had my slower c2d for 4 years now, and it runs so smooth, being it is a faster system with faster ram and a faster h drive, he should have no issues!!!! i find so many people are buying these stupid crappy net book things with all this super slow cheap tech in it that in 4 years it will be getting reayd for an upgrade but will run smoooth as butter =D

if i notice it going slow, (which i doubt) I'll up the ram and insert an SSD

When I purchased in store, the apple sales person filled out all the rebate information at the time of purchase. All I had to do was, wait for the check.
