Greetings.

Please don't troll nor judge before reading this, if you read this is probably because I believe the people in this environment are the more appropriate to help me.

Well, the situation is that I recently bought my iPhone 4S, and I dropped it... the phone is fine, but I would like to change it with a warranty, I know it doest apply with accidents but apple is not going to check it, only an intermediary, they are not specialists on the matter, so, my question is, what can I say to make them change me the iPhone without letting them know anything is wrong, for example I was thinking about telling them that the battery drains and the microphone doesn't work properly, what do you guys think I can do?

Thank you for your help.

here's a few...

battery doesn't hold a charge
call quality has a buzzing noise often
home button is not flush
ringer/vibrate toggle wiggles/is loose
bad proximity
screen tint (doesn't always work)
calls drop often even with new SIM from AT&T

it's quite easy to get a new phone from the Geniuses.

Thank you very much.

Well, since I've been waiting for 2 years to get this phone (long story) it bothers me on a manner that you can't imagine to know that I dropped it, so, I need a very persuasive way to get to these guys to make them change me the phone without allowing them to prove I'm wrong or so, theres some good suggestions at top of the post, I hope you guys keep advising me.

I would suggest being very careful when announcing your intent to defraud a company on the internet

I feel bad for the OP's girlfriend if she ever trips and falls! :p

OP --- "Uh-oh hunny, you just fell to the ground. Now you are absolutely perfect and don't have a scratch on you but you know I just cant handle something that has fallen so I guess this is goodbye..."

You mean it wont be a brand new one?

it will, but it won't. call it what you want when you get it, but technically it IS a "refurbished" phone.

but they're pretty much brand new. no scratches, etc. look new. in the end, it will be better than what you had.

and we wonder why our phones cost so much.

Dont be so hard on me, you have no idea how much I went thru to get this phone, the companies have insurance and failure estimations as well, and from 100 only prox 8 does something like this

You dropped your phone and your worried about what? That it is somehow damaged? What surface did it drop onto, what is the current damage, and why do you feel the need to get it replaced if it currently works fine?

Also, I dropped my iphone 3gs into a cup of soda and it still worked for another 8 months no problems and still works currently. Its in my desk drawer since I've got my iphone 4s. But the point is that the phone can go through a lot of damage before breaking.

You've got a bad case of OCD on this one. My advice is don't worry about it. If your screen is not cracked then you are fine.

Ok, I read this entirely before I judged you! I want to make sure I read this correctly. YOU dropped your phone, and now you want us to tell you how to defraud Apple so that we can pay more for our phones while you get a free one? Are you out of your mind? Not to mention it's illegal!

Thank you all for being honest and polite at the same time, I'm taking into consideration everything you say and I appreciate it, so, many tell me to dont worry, others what to do, and others just get mad, I and totally get it, the comment I like the most so far is this one:

So, what would you guys advice me, the vibration key is kind of shaky and when I shake the entire phone it sounds like an ultra tiny thing inside loose, plus the scratch, should I just suck it? or change it? yes no why

Thanks :)

The rattling sound inside is normal, its near the camera and is on every since iphone 4s. So I wouldn't worry about that.

I'd hold onto the phone and see if it starts acting weird at all, to be honest. If there are no bumps, dents, cracks, etc, and it starts malfunctioning then it will be replaced anyway (as long as you don't tell them it was dropped). Deal with it when (and if) it ever happens, and enjoy your phone in the meantime.

What everyone advice you is the part that has already taken place, you've said nothing that would change the input you get, you need to just make a decision on how everyone advice you and only you can do it. You went through exactly what everyone else went through, 199.99, 299.99, or 399.99 depending on your flavor and assuming your in the U.S.
1.) There is nothing loose from the fall, every phone has this shaky sound right out the box its part of the image stabilization with the camera and theres threads on this site about the topic. Its perfectly normal and expected, there would be something wrong if you didn't have the noise.
2.) Just suck it! LOL . Im guessing you meant should you suck it up, theres nothing for you to suck up as you said its fine, theres a tiny scratch, yes get over that, if you exchange it it will just be a refurbished unit thats just as likely to have more wrong with it.
In summary, everyone advice you well already. Keep the unit and invest in a nice protective case. Also, SUCK IT! ;):D
Enjoy your new phone and good luck.

Someone pointing out that what you're planning on doing is wrong doesn't make them "mad". Maybe it makes you feel better to tell yourself that, but it's not reality. No one's mad, we just think you're selfish and ignorant.
