HELP! Reinstalling OS X

I just installed Ubuntu 11.04 as a secondary OS however it took away all OS X partitioning which is not what I intended. please help me restore my computer to its factory settings with Mac OS X!!!

Thank you, but when it restarts with the CD, it stays at the Apple logo forever.... it doesn't advance...

How do you start from the DVD?
Did you try via holding down the OPTION/Alt key during the boot?

Are you sure you're booting from the disc? hold down option and select the CD

EDIT:

Also make sure you give it time, booting from a disc takes A LOT longer than booting from the drive

Yes, I hold down the option key and the disc starts up and then I click on it and it goes to the starting screen with the grey (gray?) apple logo... It's been there for about two minutes now

Give it like 10, this is why I do OS installs from jump drives now, death to OS DVD discs

Are you sure? I'll give it thirty if I have to, but you don't think there are any issues? The DVD reader is dead silent

Does the DVD reader have any problems that you are aware of? Maybe its gone bad.
Give it time though. It might take a while.

So what exact Mac do you have and what Mac OS X versions do you have available? Did the DVD you try to boot from come with the Mac?

Yes, what disc are you using? is it the gray disc labeled "Mac OS X Install DVD" that came with your computer?
