Help: switching iPhones, but the old one has no screen

My XS works...except for the screen. It is currently plugged in and receiving texts, so I know it's working, but the screen is kaput.

I have a used and wiped 14. In the past, I've held the phones together and they communicate.

Is there anything special/different I need to look out for in this switchover, considering the broken screen?

You can restore a backup - but no way to transfer directly from that XS if the screen isn’t working.
