I highly advise you read through the PDF doc I linked you to and pretty much start from scratch. Forwarding a port is a simple thing to do, I just don't understand how you can be having such a problem doing it

well like I said, it makes me share an ip address to forward ports

I think my main problem is choosing the right dhcp stuff

well I read most of that document, and when the airport is in bridge mode, its not acting as a router. So I have to share my public ip address to do what I want it to do

then you'd use a dynamic DNS service like www.dyndns.com, is this what you're after?

edit: ok, just seen your above post.

You do want a dynamic DNS service. This works by having a client running on a system within your network, whenever your WAN IP changes it updates the dynamic hosts DNS record with your new address.

Register an account at www.dyndns.com and then get the update client.

To get individual services accessible from over the internet that are already available on your LAN you will then need to forward the appropriate ports. You'll have to specify what services you want for further help with this.

This is all totally free BTW ;)

well i've decided to give this another shot with leopard. i got my mac pro running well again (new video card), so could you help me out with this? i registered with the link above, but what do i do next?

i made a new host or whatever, but it doesn't seem to work. i have the update client, and it seems to work
