Look at Dell's vostro series. They're aluminum plated, so they definitely look good. Check this one out.
Keep in mind that they're business machines, so they'll cost a little more, but Dell will take better care of you, too. I was having a problem installing Age of Empires last night, at 3am, and Dell was able to walk me through it. That's not your typical consumer warranty.

The performance is pretty darn good considering the price.

And when I said $800 was his limit, I meant that was literally all the cash he had so cheaper would have been better. (He isn't great with money and would have gladly spent it all, but I'm not sure if he would have been able to afford gas after that.)

I will say I'm not a fan of HP but this machine seems far better than the junk they sold a few years ago. Anyways, he is happy with it, and got accidental coverage at Best Buy, so he should be good.
