Yeah, but you bet someone is already finishing the hack for that. They definitely want people to move fast to Apple Silicon Macs…
The MacBook Air laptops of 2014 are designated “vintage” products by Apple, whereas the Mac Mini computers of the same year are not. Presumably because Apple stopped selling those Mac Mini computers only in 2018, whereas the MacBook Air of 2014 were discontinued in early 2015.Why is the MacBook Air 2014 not supported, when it has pretty much the same specs as a Mac Mini 2014?
Yeah. Ordered November 2014. Obsolete June 2021. Was a pretty good run. Honestly the best computer I've owned so far.Damn my 2014 iMac Retina takes a kick in the crotch![]()
Not sure, but here’s a site you can use to compare one to the other (on everymac.com)Why is the MacBook Air 2014 not supported, when it has pretty much the same specs as a Mac Mini 2014?
to be fair.....you can still use itYeah. Ordered November 2014. Obsolete June 2021. Was a pretty good run. Honestly the best computer I've owned so far.
Don’t forget it was a developers conference - and it’s vital for developers to know about new workout types on iWatch (they have to spend so much time at their desks, poor things).I am so happy that they didn't announce any new Macs! That way they could focus on high-priority items like iCloud, Maps, and iPad widgets.
I purchased 2015 Late 27-inch iMac like 2 weeks ago. I really hope it serves me a bit longer than just a year. It is dumb that iOS devices get continued supports, but much more expensive hardware gets dropped like flies.- iMac - Late 2015 and later
Well, ****. That means that my machine is right at the edge of support, so there's a good chance it will lose support next year.
And my work-issued rMBP is done.
I just tossed my 2014 MBP in the trash minutes ago and the trash truck just took it away. Thanks for nothing, Apple.Well, that’s me and my mid-2014 13” Retina MacBook Pro out in the cold…
How is it obsolete? Big Sur'll receive security updates until late 2023.Yeah. Ordered November 2014. Obsolete June 2021. Was a pretty good run. Honestly the best computer I've owned so far.
Apple really should put the series 3 out of its WatchOS update misery and be done with it.Cool. Now we need a compatibility list for watchOS. Hopefully Series 3 lives to see another day.
All the more reason to get a new Mac.Well, that’s me and my mid-2014 13” Retina MacBook Pro out in the cold…
