Looking forward to trying out Genmoji and Image playground. Hopefully Siri will be a bit better after ChatGPT integration. Will update my devices to the final version next week after the public release.

“You can’t run around and add a button to these things. They’re already shipped.”
I wonder who said that. He must’ve been a very smart man, you might even say a visionary, who realized you could add and change on-screen buttons and functionality like with computer software rather than rely on physical button.
If only iOS had already some camera software and a viewfinder with on screen controls that let you change the camera settings like zoom and such, we wouldn’t need a physical button. If only, wouldn’t it be cool…

Pretty much has been stable for me. But battery had been terrible. Also would like to see them allow people with 2 Apple ID’s to merge them into one.

Let's see if 48MP ProRAW images can now be converted to 48MP HEIC again, as was possible until iOS 17.6.

Still blows my mind that Apple is so behind they’re bragging about features only available to like 10 percent of the iPhones on the planet.
Behind how? Just because everyone else is rushing out half baked me first AI does not mean Apple has to. If anything they have the most cohesive and system wide approach.

I've been seeing a nasty bug in 18.1 where my whole screen (iPhone 15 Pro) goes black and has a little spinner in the middle. It seems to happen at random, maybe a few times a week. When the phone comes back up after maybe 15 seconds, the screen is locked but I can unlock with FaceID. Music will continue to play the whole time the screen blacks out, as well. It's a weird one.
It might be the FBI/NSA making quick snapshots 🤡

I wish this AI would automatically take care of all the two factor authentication busywork and just log me in whether it’s text or email. It should be trained to recognize the request and response and just deal with it. It’s crazy I still have to do it myself when I have an AI computer.
That would basically render 2F authentication useless.

They’ve been marketing the iPhone 16 with Apple intelligence for three months showing features that won’t be out till next week. If they were truly planning for this Apple would’ve been putting 8GB in phones for the last few years.

Any usefull feature for anyone?.
Zeeeero interest in this for me. I think my interest in Apple is wavering, nothin on the horizon seems "future is here, now". This intelligence is a parlour trick. No real usage comoared to what asian devices can do since a few years.
More and more seems and Andorid is in the 2 years time frame for me.

Nope. I’m still on iOS 17, everything that’s changed in 18 is worse (the Photos app is now absolute garbage), and the new AI features are worthless. Doubt I’ll ever upgrade.

Strange, my 2018 iPad Pro on iPadOS 18.2 RC isn’t showing the “Show Contact Photos” option in Settings/Apps/Mail

In fact, the Mail app looks virtually unchanged for me.

Great. May we have this for the main photo collection / feed too? Changing the view to months / years is so annoying. I don’t know who decided to just break people’s muscle memory which was there for decade.
It's the same functionality that existed prior to iOS18 though?

Would be nice to see some speed in the notes app. I’m 8,300 notes. It’s slow as hell on my iPhone 15 pro max, my m1 iPad Pro, and even my MacBook Pro M3 Max struggles with it a bit.

Could be my fault to an extent. Some of my notes are ported from my Evernote account. And I think the way Evernote exports some web clipped pages leaves a lot of residual mess that notes app doesn’t like. But hard to know which notes might be causing the trouble or how to fix the issue. You’d imagine notes would work in a way where a bad note would not cause the whole app to slow down…

Fingers crossed!
