It might be an idea to check what Electron apps you're running, as per this: https://daringfireball.net/linked/2025/10/20/electron-apps-slow-down-tahoe
There's also a page which tracks applications with an old version of Electron

Although for example Discord is considered fixed in that website, while the script that you posted says that it is still affected.
Anyway, I don't really use Discord so I'm getting rid of it.

@germanbeer007

try to run this in Terminal:

Code:
launchctl setenv CHROME_HEADLESS 1

then close ALL your apps (do not restart your mac; setting environment variables like this doesn't survive restarts).

now reopen them and test for a while. is the sluggishness gone?

I need confirmation that the idiotic caps lock and language input popups still pollute the screen, so I can focus on hating Sequoia.

I've came across that reddit thread where it suggested this. Sluggishness is still there.

No to both. I'm gradually getting used to the Music app's player controls being at the bottom of the screen, but I'm not sure about the track play progress bar being reduced to a very thin line, expanding to normal visible thickness only when you move the pointer directly over this very thin line, which also pointlessly blurs out the names of the artist, album, and track, as well as the miniature album art graphic. There's plenty of extra white space below the player controls cartouche for increasing the height of this cartouche so that the progress bar's full thickness can always be displayed within it, and not require the user to fussily move the pointer over the very thin bar to expand it.

FWIW, I switched over to Cider for now. Allows access to Apple Music and has more intuitive controls, especially for those with an additional DAC.

Are the music player's controls back where they belong —top and center —with an always-visible volume slider?
this annoys me every time I use music, plus the fact I cant read it half the time as all the different graphics of the music sleeves causes all sorts of legibility problems. Beyond stupid.
However not quite as much as the screen grab on the phone switching the accept button with the cancel button......
