My thought as well - while Mickey and dancing numbers are fun, I just like my watch to look a little more sophisticated and they really could use some more of that
Indeed. Personally, I don't like using colored watch faces because the fade to black in AOD mode is a bit jarring/annoying. So these new watch faces seem more gimmicky than anything, to me.

Again, just my opinion. But this is the first year - ever, I think - that I'm not bothering with either the iOS or watchOS beta. There don't seem to be any compelling upgrades, AFAICT. 😓

Wow. I assume they still have a graphic design department? They really need to let 3rd parties design some better approaches to faces. But at least I won’t be smarting if they are 7 or 8 exclusive.

For what it’s worth, the portraits face has never had a depth effect on any of my portrait mode photos, so extending that effect to cover more subjects is not going to change my world. It is one of the nicer ones though.

Is there a non-workout watch face that lets you see digital time with seconds?
Infographic can have it in the middle I think.

But in general the options for this are still extremely poor even after all this time, for some inexplicable reason. Some of us want to use our watch to tell the time!

And it looks like we can't have digital seconds on the iPhone Lock Screen either, despite yesterday's changes.

I’ve got to give Apple the credit they deserve. The amount of intricate detail that they’re implementing into watch features is incredible from where they were first started with such basic complications and stats.

The Apple Watch has the most significant potential of all the Apple products, and it’s just still getting started.

They really need to do a watch face store. The stock ones are getting to be meh IMO. I only use the Nike ones at this point.

The Nike ones probably are probably appealing because they used to make awesome watch’s in the 90s and some of that aesthetic shows through. I bet if the people that worked for Nike Timing back then collaborated on the AW design, the Nike version would look a lot better. The AW is a really quality product, but needs a bit of radical 90s design thrown in for some fun. There is only so much excitement in a metal and glass square.

Also they need to bring back the silver aluminum color. Starlight looks too gold in certain light and clashes with certain band colors in said light.

They've pretty much mimic's all of the Hermes faces now. The Metropolitan face is just a riff of the Hermes face that's been out for years.

Stupid new watch faces, just focussed on design and marketing. Apple needs to open watch faces to developers, but it failed again.
Developers could build stunning new watchfaces or integrate important data like glucose values from a sensor - no matter if Apple has one.
I agree, but fyi glocose values from a sensor can be done now with a complication

As others have said the metro Watchface looks more sophisticated watch than a computer strapped to your wrist.

All I really want is an option tot urn off the hour and minute hands so that they don't cover or block the complications through the day. Essentially, I'd like if we can have a DIGITAL version of all the ANALOG faces.I've been using INFOGRAPH MODULAR for the past few years because it offers the most amount of complications and also digital time. I am aware I can add a digital time complication to some of the faces but then, you guessed it, the watch hands cover the complications and sometimes even the entire date complication. "Hey what time is it?" "Hang on, I have to swipe over to another watch face or open the calendar app on the watch to see the date." That shouldn't be a thing. Maybe I need to be more aware of what day it is and not rely on the watch? Anyway, I'd happily use many of the other beautiful and cool-looking watch faces if the watch hands could be turned off and a viable digital time display could be used instead (sort of like how they have that digital time front and center on the Lunar face depicted above.)

Unless those kids are also blind, I think you’re missing my point. You can design things for kids that don’t look like trash.
Nah, the point is you weren't clever enough to know that a watch face had been designed for kids. I would just admit it, but not you.

Why would I admit to something that's not true? It's called playtime, it's obviously aimed at kids. That still doesn't make bad design good.

OK, dear. Whatever. "What were they thinking?" Designing a watch face for kids!

Yes, "What were they thinking?" because the design is bad. Why are they releasing a watch face that looks like a bowling alley animation? I'm sorry, I get that you have bad reading comprehension, but that's not really my fault.
