My thought as well - while Mickey and dancing numbers are fun, I just like my watch to look a little more sophisticated and they really could use some more of that
The Hermes edition watch has LOADS of more sophisticated watch faces. But you’re gonna have to pay for em!

Yes, "What were they thinking?" because the design is bad. Why are they releasing a watch face that looks like a bowling alley animation? I'm sorry, I get that you have bad reading comprehension, but that's not really my fault.
It's not bad design if you're the target audience, i.e. little kids. But of course you know better than a huge company like Apple, don't you?

Lol, do you think companies can't make mistakes? I know that Apple is capable of making something better than this and still have it be great for kids.

All I really want is an option tot urn off the hour and minute hands so that they don't cover or block the complications through the day. Essentially, I'd like if we can have a DIGITAL version of all the ANALOG faces.I've been using INFOGRAPH MODULAR for the past few years because it offers the most amount of complications and also digital time. I am aware I can add a digital time complication to some of the faces but then, you guessed it, the watch hands cover the complications and sometimes even the entire date complication. "Hey what time is it?" "Hang on, I have to swipe over to another watch face or open the calendar app on the watch to see the date." That shouldn't be a thing. Maybe I need to be more aware of what day it is and not rely on the watch? Anyway, I'd happily use many of the other beautiful and cool-looking watch faces if the watch hands could be turned off and a viable digital time display could be used instead (sort of like how they have that digital time front and center on the Lunar face depicted above.)
It's not like the date doesn't get covered on regular watches to. Also, a watch without an hour - and minute hand is surely working great. 👍

I couldn’t find anything on this yet, does anyone know if they made any updates/improvements to the Siri watch face?

That's another option sure, but not room for anything else.

The "obvious" digital seconds display would just be to allow you customise modular so you could have "hh:mm:ss" in the middle and use the top right for something else. I'm amazed you can't do this.

They added a digital seconds complication in watchOS 8 (only took them six years to do it. Lol). See attached image - bottom right complication is digital seconds

Awesome thanks for the picture. Now, do they have a digital time that fits in the corner of an analog face? Instead of making me use the world clock where the time zone name is bigger than the entire time display?

While third party watch faces would be ideal, I would be happy if there was the ability to add more complications slots to most faces, and not have monochrome complications (or at least the choice to have full colour).

California and Infograph.
Those are analog faces - so the digital time is frequently covered by the minute hand.

I work in an industry where every second matters, so I need to be able to check, in a split second glance, what the time is right now. And I'll likely check again 3 seconds later to check how long something took. Apple watch can only do that with the fitness watch faces - but I don't want my whole watch face to be covered in activity rings when I'm at work. I want other work related complications on the watch.

Indeed. Personally, I don't like using colored watch faces because the fade to black in AOD mode is a bit jarring/annoying. So these new watch faces seem more gimmicky than anything, to me.

Again, just my opinion. But this is the first year - ever, I think - that I'm not bothering with either the iOS or watchOS beta. There don't seem to be any compelling upgrades, AFAICT. 😓

Last year the watch faces were really limited in numbers - The launch of the new watch gave it a bit more, but not much.

Hope the same this year - new watch might give us a couple more, available on AW7 as well.

This year, the running part is BY FAR my biggest hype and alone enough for me to jump on the first public beta

DMG35: They've pretty much mimic's all of the Hermes faces now. The Metropolitan face is just a riff of the Hermes face that's been out for years.

Except...it's a sh*tty riff. What is with Apple's obsession with tick marks (minute or even semi minute)? Faces like Chronograph, Explorer I can excuse. But: Metropolitan? tick marks. California? tick marks. Utility? tick marks. "Simple", for crying out loud? tick marks. The only way I can get rid of tick marks is to go too simple in the other direction, like Color or Gradient or Typograph.
