Yeah for sure. My uncle works at Apple and he tells me that they do this on purpose to make you upgrade. Apple and their trillions of dollars have this plan where they monitor the battery health of all iPhones on a grid. When a new iPhone is about to be launched, they activate this software execution where they slow down your iPhone to the point where it's noticeable to the trained eye smartphone tech enthusiast.

They do this to force you to upgrade to a new iPhone every year. Because it makes much more sense to do this, than to give great customer service and software support to keep us using more and more of their apps and services to bring in the loads of money. Nah, it forces us to buy another $1,200 iPhone instead, this is their master plan all along. Lmfao.

Apple's aiming to be the first company to hit quadrillions in dollars, they gotta get that revenue anyway they can.

New iPhone soon to be released. And my old iPhone’s battery suddenly draining much more quickly than before and apps being slower. Same thing every year! This is hardly a coincidence. Anyone else noticed the same thing?
Your mind is changing your perception to give you an excuse to upgrade. On the other hand my phone seems to get better every year before a new phone is announced. My mind is programmed to automatically detect BS marketing and gimmicks.

I can’t confirm the OPs experience with my own. I’ve been using a 13 mini since launch and I still have 100% battery health. Apps are still really smooth.

Meanwhile, I have an S21 for work and it has definitely slowed. Outlook needs about 5 seconds to launch.

My iPhone XR battery has been at 82% for a while now and not making it through a whole day. I bought an Apple battery case and it’s been stellar. I’ve been updating right along keeping iOS up to date. My battery issues happened way before any of this conspiracy stuff you’re spouting right now. Apple does take 2 steps forward and then 3 back in battery life every time iOS is updated, but eventually they get it fixed. Does feel like they took a very long time this release (iOS 15), but I’m happy with how things have turned. Apple isn’t forcing anyone to upgrade their iPhone. I’m off that hamster wheel and I’ll get back on when I am damn good and ready, not before.

Same thing happens to phone cases. Mines just started falling apart. It’s a conspiracy. 😉😂

Guess that explains why my 3GS, my 4, my 4s, my 5, my 6s+ and the 11 Pro Max that I bought brand new in February 2021 have battery drain every year around this time.

Oh wait…they don't. Yeah, the battery in my 6s+ is brand new too - November 2021.

Well, my iPad 6th Gen then! No, sorry, that doesn't happen either. Strange to think they'd intentionally drain my iPad when it's got the iOS 16 Beta on it though.

Maybe I was supposed to trade-in/get rid of the previous model phone each year in order to experience this?

why don't you get the battery replaced? quick and easy at Apple and feels like a brand new phone afterwards

My 13 Pro Max that I ordered on launch day is still running perfectly and at 100% battery health. When should I expect Apple to slow down my iPhone? I'm looking at the 14 but I need a reason to justify buying one. Maybe I can take my iPhone to the Apple Store and they can install the slowdown app?

I thought about it, but the battery was $99 and fits a belt case I bought for it. The current battery plus the case last a good 14 -16 hours before needing a charge. I honestly haven’t had time to take it and get it replaced. I intend to run this thing into the ground as long as iOS runs on it. I’m done upgrading for a while and if I get another 3-4 years I’ll be a happy clam.

Don't wait too long. At a certain point Apple moves hardware into a class of items that it will not service anymore. That is one of the reasons I replaced the battery on my 6s+ last November.

For my iPhone 5, it was replaced three times for battery swelling. I tried in 2020 to do so one final time but Apple had already stopped working on them by that point. I'm glad I called them first though - I'd have wasted a 30 minute trip.

I think the time span is 7 years, but I don't know for sure.
