My 12 Pro Max has been at 82% for a few months now. I was going to stop paying AppleCare+ once I receive my 14 Pro Max and just pay the $69 out of warranty fee for a battery replacement. I have to charge my 12 Pro Max 2-3 times a day. I either listen to music or talk on the phone for 8 hours at work. I browse social media for an hour or 2 before bed. This all happens 6 days a week. The other day I’m on social media a little more than normal.

My iPhone X has been on 81% for a few years now. No problems works great

Yeah for sure. My uncle works at Apple and he tells me that they do this on purpose to make you upgrade. Apple and their trillions of dollars have this plan where they monitor the battery health of all iPhones on a grid. When a new iPhone is about to be launched, they activate this software execution where they slow down your iPhone to the point where it's noticeable to the trained eye smartphone tech enthusiast.

They do this to force you to upgrade to a new iPhone every year. Because it makes much more sense to do this, than to give great customer service and software support to keep us using more and more of their apps and services to bring in the loads of money. Nah, it forces us to buy another $1,200 iPhone instead, this is their master plan all along. Lmfao.
I don’t think you have an uncle working at Apple. I don’t believe your story. BUT, I do have believe this for the longest

New iPhone soon to be released. And my old iPhone’s battery suddenly draining much more quickly than before and apps being slower. Same thing every year! This is hardly a coincidence. Anyone else noticed the same thing?
I’ve had this since October of last year

A magical slowdown of phone performance when new phones are about to come out is not my experience. But I currently have an iPhone 12 Pro and am not at all feeling the need to upgrade/replace my phone.

My SE2022‘s Battery sucked from the start. It drains so fast I have it on constant energy save mode (with a shortcut that enables energy save after battery dropping below 100%) and always carry a power bank.

No connection with any event although (apart from the se 22 launch).

By the way: as I‘m writing this, I notice this is really not a good state. Maybe it‘s a fault in the product?

There might be a problem, but it's also possible your usage is just heavy for the SE's battery. You can see in the Settings app what's using up the most battery.

No, I think we should take this seriously. Has anyone written Tim yet to get to the bottom of this? Why hasn’t MR made this a front page story?!

Man, where has journalistic credibility gone these days? Is it really so hard to research iPhone slowdown near the keynote? Everyone’s got an iPhone right? Just look at your iPhone and notice it. Take notes. Record battery percentages.

🙄 y’all really need to focus and help solve this conspiracy if you care at all about Apple.

Nope, I didn’t update to the purportedly ever so important 15.6.1, so I’m in the clear.

Just kidding…

I think this is marketing making you feel your phone is inadequate - either consciously or sub-consciously. The battery is not draining faster. I have an iPhone 11. Not degrading any faster the last 3 years. It’s in your head. If it’s not in your head, and it’s actually happening, then it’s coincidence. Please don’t expect me to believe it’s an Apple conspiracy that they are draining your phone specifically and intentionally.

Occam’s Razor. You’re falling for the shiny rumors of the 14 And want a tangible excuse to spend money on the new phone.

It has to be said, my iPhone 13 has been noticeably slower in the last couple of weeks. Like it’s connected to 4G or 5G with 4 or 5 bars, but struggles sometimes to load a webpage or send a message. It probably isn’t a conspiracy but it does seem strange that the phone has been lightning fast until a few weeks before the new one is about to come out
